Here ya go Syko, its your time to shine.

I really like our depth at DT. Brace(sorry) and Goree are going to be studs. We could use some more guys at DE though.

The only loss is Alonzo Barrett. Which is big. So who do we plug in for next year? Does anyone know if Drew Hudgins recieved an extra year due to injury? I know he had 2 to play 2 coming out of Junior College.

Defensive Ends
Maurice Lucas-SR
Drew Hudgins-JR(?)
Marquez Herrod-RS-SOPH
Conrad Obi-RS-FR

Defensive Tackle
George Hypolite-SR
Brandon Nicolas-SR
Chris Perri-JR
Jason Brace-JR
Taj Kaynor-JR
Eric Lawson-SO
Eugene Goree-RS-FR
Lagrone Shields-RS-FR

Incoming Recruits
DT Curtis Cunningham
DE Josh Williams

Walk Ons(That I know of)
DT Daniel Modrovsky-SO
DE Kevin Cooney-SO
DE Tony Poremba-SO

With the depth at DT and lack there of at DE, could they possibly move someone like Kaynor back to DE which he played in HS??

This is what CU says:

"- He [Hudgins] enrolled at Colorado in January (he counts toward the 2006 class) and has three years to play two in eligibility."

Original reports had him with two to play two, but I tend to believe CU has it right.

When I first wrote about this, I also noted that Perri had apparently been granted a redshirt year for his first year in college, and he's now listed as a sophomore.

I heard there was a chance incoming recruit Jon Major could eventually become a DE as well. I'd rather have a lack of depth at DE than DT if I had to pick my poison.

Shields was initially recruited to CU as a DE, and I remember a quote by him stating coaches told him this - it wasn't just a projection by scout or rivals. Of course, things can change, but for now, I think he's most likely a tweener D-lineman, not really having a set position until perhaps after this spring ball.

Valdez - have you seen or read about Lawson? I'm just curious why you think he's going to be a stud...have not read anything about his performance in practices. Goree, I saw Hawk was excited about, which is great, because the kid is massive. All in all however, I actually like the quality depth at DE after next season more than DT, and therefore think we could use another DT in this year's class.

Lawson? Okay.Buffs are good for this year but the rest of your list at dt is unproven.Perri? Another kid who by the coaches determination as an unblockable didn't show much.Kaynor? Out him on that list.

Goree has the best shot to be a good player.

C'mon let's get davis or moore, hell go get kuli.

Datone jones?

Next year is when you should bring this post up,we'll see how these"studs" play.

I'm sorry i meant Brace. I watched him in the spring and he really impressed me. He's a pretty scrappy kid. I think he will be good.

So your pretty much saying the kids we have are garbage? Of course they're unproven, their freshman and sophmores:huh:

Perri played really good imo. He was pretty disruptive in the middle. He really gave olineman fits. All that for a first year guy.

There ya go,telling me I said their garbage.Don't lie and put words in my mouth.Because I don't think every player is a stud doesn't mean I think they are garbage.Lawson, perri, kaynor and brace have not stood out.You say perri was disruptive? When?

Everyone says "We are fine at dt and de,we have some guys who'll be studs" then the season rolls around and what is the first thing being bitched about? We have no pass rush,no pressure up front,it's killing our secondary.

Well, time to get some more dt in here besides cunningham and more de's besides pericak, cause it looks like willimas is gone.

Is brace, lawson, kaynor and goree ready to be all big 12 at dt next year?

I am really looking foward to seeing him play. It will be fun seeing him and Obi at DE. Perri, Goree and Brace at DT. I really like that lineup.

BTW don't sleep on Herrod.

The only concern for me about defense is the Collin's gameplan. His calls against Mizzou and KU absolutely stunk.

Aren't we loaded at DE? What about Obi? I am more concerned with our secondary for the next recruiting cycle.

I wouldn't say loaded. Syko is kinda right. We can always use more kids there. But its not like we are hurting either. Obi was a RS last year. I guess that means he's a scrub right syko?:wink2::smile2:

Yeah, whatever you say.I like to base my opinion of recruits and players on what they actually do on the field. The guys you mentioned have not done that much, the others have great potential for sure, but i'm sick of cu losing 5 games or more every year and tired of coaches raving about players and the they either get no playing time or don't live up to their hype.

Results baby

:wink2:

Yes, 3-man rush. When did it ever work this year?

Its alot more complicated than that. Sure we don't get to the QB with 3 guys. But we also elimanate getting beat around the ends with a LB shadowing the qb. Making reesing beat you with his arm gives you the best shot to win. When we let Reesing run all over us really killed us.

Can't argue with results right?:smile2: Give these boys a chance. I really think Obi and Brace will be good. jmo.

OBI is the one guy i'm counting on to step up next year as well as herrod.Herrod had a tough year last year,he'll be ready. As you know,I always whine and complain about DT and de.I take it to extremes and I apologize but when I see dl's like lsu and such,it's so critical for cu to upgrade in this area.Especially with our secondary situation.

I can't wait for spring practice and scrimmage.Brace needs to add more weight,he's good but right now, get's pushed around some.

Good post valdez:smile2:

I emailed Dave Plati about Hudgins, and he responded that an r/s was awarded, and that Hudgins will have 2 to play 2.

Lagrone Shields; listed as a DL on CUBuffs.com. Was recruited as a DE (pretty good pass rusher, from what I remember). I would be surprised if he is moved - he's needed on the outside.
