MBB GAME THREAD - CU vs. Wazzou | Jan 10th @7pm | Pac12 Network

I'm reminded of something @Goose mentioned awhile back....

Even in good years the Boyle era has always had bad stretches like the one they're in now. Somehow they've always managed to bounce back and give us hope again. There are exceptions like Ski's senior year and the Derrick White year, outside of those seasons though there have been turning points where the Buffs regrouped and played the way we all thought they could.

We need to see Tad Ball show that resiliency now. There is still a lot of basketball to play, and plenty of opportunity to make a run at a postseason bid.

My predictions for tonight:
- Traffic getting in will be a nightmare and I'll scream at at least one cop and/or driver
- Attendance will be piss poor and late arriving (see above)
- The student section (they don't even warrant being named these days) will be pathetic and all the unfortunate souls who bought a "Be a Student at the Game" will question whether they're even in the right spot when surrounded by only roughly 30-40 students
- Deleon Brown and Dallas Walton will not suit up
- It will seem as though Schwartz did not suit up
- WSU will have their best 3pt shooting game of their season
- The popcorn I order will be left over from games pre-holiday break and suck
- We'll all be pissed at halftime because WSU has kept it so close/we're behind
- MWIV will put us on his back down the stretch and finish with 20+ pts
- Buffs win 79-70

Getting stops makes a difference. Wazzu isn’t very good, but getting stops make everything on offense easier.

Also, Tyler Bey is our best player.

Against good teams, it's really obvious. Team can hang with anyone we've played when he's on the floor. When he goes off, so do the wheels.

If kin's outside shooting can be just a little more accurate, he will be so much more efficient.

At this point I think Kin needs to rediscover his aggressiveness and confidence instead of worrying about his shot. He may just be what he is as a shooter. Doesn't seem to have the eye.

I don't think this team is better than what we have seen so far from the bad stretch. This year will be all about growth, nothing else. But this team with one year growth + Walton coming back could be really good. Could be.

Apparently Tad is high on Kountz. Not sure if I see what he sees in him though. I guess I can kind of see how good he could be offensively if he becomes stronger.

Here come the Cougars! Never mind WSU is probably the worst team talent wise I have seen in over 20+ years as a season ticket holder in EITHER the PAC 12 or Big 12.

Ok, anything I said last week about the Cougs being improved was obviously very very wrong. They are very very bad, especially on defense. Just standing around.

Also note they didn’t have Franks and 22ppg per night. He usually wears us out.

Nice to see us just be better, even against a ****ty team. Hope it's a springboard to beating UW. Do that and we are back on track for a decent league season.

just looking at the stats from the game. what jumped out at me:
  • we out re-bounded them 41-27
  • we shot 41% from 3pt and Wazzou was 2-18
  • we had 20 assisted buckets to their 5
  • we were only 61% at FTs (Siewert and Schwartz a combined 4-9)

great win. can't count on conference opponents shooting that badly though.

You know what drives me crazy? Missed FTs coming out of a stoppage. I swear, CU must shoot about 30% on the front end of free throws when coming off a timeout or ref stoppage/ review. It's a lack of focus.
