Coach Mac Challenging Everybody To Each Bring 50 Friends To The Spring Game

An Enthusiastic Hawk Geeting Us Fired Up For The Fall

-We all had a fun time - Allbuffs represented well-
There was over 1600 at the lunch (a record)
I sure hope next year we can have 2 Allbuffs tables-

thanks, but what about what went on? Vids? What coaches said? highlights?

Mac challenged us fans to pack Folsom for the spring game. Says he thinks that's one of Bama's best selling points - they had 92,000 at their spring game last year. And this year they have the #1 recruiting class.

They sold 75 prints of the Buffalo painting for anywhere from $1k-$5k each to help raise funds for recruiting. They also sold the original in about 3 seconds for $25k. I would guess they raised $150-200k in about 15 minutes.

Everyone has seen Scott's vids, but he's amazing. Stewart looked really damn fast, too. Built a lot like Darren Sproles, and is fast like Sproles. Katoa had 175 freaking tackles last season, and 95 of them were solo. Major and Katoa both hit like freight trains. They just bury people. Blackmon averaged OVER 25 yards per catch last season. 32 receptions for 830 yards. Great YAC.

Great lunch and it was nice to meet some of you guys. The food was even good for once!

thanks. Just trying to get some conversation going over here. Netbuffs is talking up a storm compared to this mourge:smile2:

I'd talk but I got nothin' waiting for more updates from the attendees

OK, what else? Lemme think.

Cabral was praised by Hawk and named Associate Head Coach.

Hawk said one thing he loves about CU is that when he woudl talk about national championships in Boise, people would chuckle. But when he talks about it here, people just nod. Says that's a real expectation here that he intends to live up to. He also said it's awesome that CU has more Nobel Prize winners on the faculty than Heisman winners and that the football team needs to catch up. Graduation rates are almost at 100%, well above the NCAA minimums.

Next year we should cut ITB from the AB table and get a coach so I don't have to see more pictures of myself on the intarweb. I know how ugly I am, I see myself every day.

it's only time before you get farked
btw- the one who brings the camera is usually BEHIND the camera -

one of the highlights of the luncheon for me was the fact that hawk recognized brian cabral's 20 years of coaching at cu and how much of a mentor he is to the student athletes he is associated with. then he announced that he is appointing cabral associate head coach.

i thought that ****ing rocked...

I think the bigger problem is just finding 50 people that will admit to being your freind, regardless of if they can make it to the game..........:wink2:

(I almost wrote 'Irregardless' just to see who would get spun up about it!:smile2:)

Nick Clement sat at my table. Dan Graham was hanging out with Victor Rogers. A few of the '90 NC players bought the paintings...

So good to see so many former players supporting this program again!

I loved the pricing system for the paintings.. $1,000 for unframed and $2,500 for framed. That is a $1,500 frame!!! Must be f*cking nice!!
