2019 NIT thread

On to the next round! Yeah ... it's not the Dance, but hey, it's more basketball. And I couldn't already be more fired up about our prospects next year.

I guess they can win without bey.WEll you know.

Schwartz was nails and wright hit some big shots down the stretch.

Ice up men, moving on.

I think The Schwartz shoots better from 2 ft further back! That kid, and Kin, won the game tonight.

I hate watching us play defense like that. Nice time for one of our better 3 point shooting nights. I hope the UW game didn't break Gatling. That was so bad to watch

That was weird. Didn’t feel like I was watching a Tad CU team. It almost doesn’t feel like we won with the way we played defense and got abused in the paint. And our transition defense, just yuck.

But that’s a win over a quality team so I’ll take it.

They didn’t have defensive 3 seconds did they? Because our defenders seemed to be afraid of staying in the lane.

****! No post game on the radio! Those pricks!!
Post game was bumped to 850 KOA

Only real news was that they think they dodged a bullet with Bey's knee. Sounds like it could be an ankle sprain or knee sprain, or both. They will know more tomorrow during treatment sessions. Whether he plays next game or not is going to depend on how badly the joints swell up probably.

Schwartz is maybe the most improved played from beginning of the season to now. SO much more confident shooting, driving, you name it. Really excited to watch him next year.
Really like his length, you can see he's learning how to use it to his advantage. Great Game

In his post game interview Tad said that Dayton shot just over 50% FG for the year. I checked and he was right. Holy crap. Dayton had one of the most efficient offenses in the country stemming from the fact that they work extremely hard to get points in the paint. They did what they always do, it wasn't so much a let down on defense. He also admitted we had a 1-2 specific guys (no names, but I think we have an idea) keep getting caught in "no man's land" in transition defense, but that their fast break pressing in the first half likely led to them running out of steam in the second.

Was that the best team CU has beaten all year? I think so

I think Arizona State might be better, but not decidedly. Oregon right now might be better than Dayton too, but Oregon was a mess when we crushed them.

According to KenPom, the only team we beat that is higher ranked than Dayton is Oregon (#43). Dayton is #60. The only other team we played that was better was Washington (#53). ASU is #62 and CU is #64.

In other news, this conference sucked and I still can't believe they have 3 teams dancing.

Seeing Bey get hurt was painful. Glad it isn't as serious as it looked at the time and hope he will be able to play in the Sweet 16.

Kept me up way past my bedtime, but it was worth it.
