Dante Wigley

MM was great at coaching and developing DBs. Unfortunately like virtually every other position on the team nowhere close to enough effort was put into recruiting the kind of talent that could be developed to that level.

He did a great job of developing a number of guys but some of those guys were raw talents initially recruited by JE (who as it turns out could recognize talent and recruited some excellent players but couldn't coach it,)

Some others like Oliver were under the radar great athletes. Other schools caught on to this pretty quickly and figured out that MM could identify athletes but once he did they could be stolen because his staff wouldn't work the recruiting hard enough to keep them.
In addition, the type of cornerback that he recruited was different. He preferred a PRESS corner. Tucker and Co. seem to prefer COVER corners that require much more traditional athleticism at the position.

This is also why many of the CU DB's under MM are favored as nickel corners in the NFL as well.

I mean, just Chido. Spoon, Oliver and Crawley (is you consider him a MM DB) are all outside guys
