A Gator, an Auburn Tiger, and a first time in Boulder (Ariz @ CU)

On gear wear, it probably wouldn't be a big deal. I would assume your either just a college fan in town, or maybe someones brother, cousin, etc. Wouldn't really care.

RTD and the Flatiron Flyer are fine, its just that you are at the mercy of their schedule/ routes. You want to stay later, do or go soemwhere else, it may not happen conveniently. Much easier if you have your own wheels and can go as you please.

Same, re: gear.

That all sounds about right, with regards to public transportation. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something there. Planning to book a rental car since we'll have from 10am Fri until 7pm Sunday on the ground in Colorado.

As far as parking... it's a college campus on Saturday in the fall, so I presume that's an ordeal. Are the lots to the southeast (the lots in the 400's) impossible after a certain time? And if for some reason we do get there late, anywhere outside of the public lots we should aim for?

Hard to say what parking will be like. Never seen anything like the red stain that was there last weekend. We normally get to the game around 9:00, although we may be a little earlier this week with an 11:00 kick off. Parking is $25.00 onlike or $30.00 the day of the game and we typically park in lot 470.

We try to back up to grass (the kind you mow, not smoke), get under some shade and it's pretty relaxed over there. If you are swinging by Sackygate, you may want to look into the Euclid Parking garage or 327. I have no idea how quickly those fill up, so can't tell you what its like. The campus is beautiful, so your walk will be nice.

Getting out is a matter of what you plan for post game activites and if the game is close or a blow out. It can be relatively quick, or take some time (like last week).

"Don't be a Tennessee fan" isn't advice most Gators need, but we do appreciate the sentiment.

Never to early to get ready for 2029.
It’s about time CU and FL put a home - home on the schedule.

For the record, the Tennessee fan did post that he couldn’t find anywhere to buy Buff gear during is time in Boulder. I’m sure you can do better.

The key issue here isn’t whether or not you would wear your team gear at our CU-AofU game. The issue is the fan sitting next to you.

Let’s say that you have good seats in Gainesville and the Gators are playing Missouri or Vandy. Would you really want me sitting next to you in CU black gold?

Just sayin’

Ha, thanks, we will mostly do just that. We're not the clownish Vol characters referenced in a previous post (though forsaking our team colors on game day strikes me as odd) so we'll certainly be bringing our own tickets and beer, and are happy to contribute financially (or otherwise) to tailgates if such a thing is an option (which we've seen/done before). As much as we look forward to the stadium, the town, the atmosphere, all of that, we look forward to meeting some CU fans and shooting the breeze. Thanks for the info/rec/invite, looking forward to Boulder/Folsom.
Dude, wear your UF gear and Auburn gear, I can't imagine that would be a problem.

Heck, wear a kimono or a full Scottish bagpiper kilt set up, no one will care. I’d avoid a Herbie the Husker costume, but anything else goes. There used to be 4 guys who came to every game dressed as
Teletubbies.

I’m not sure why clean undies is getting in a bunch over this.

It all started with a guy in a Manchester United shirt who was sitting in the row behind me during an ASU game in Folsom. He was talking about how much better the fan experience was somewhere else.

Then there was the infestation five days ago.

Considering how much I've heard (particularly from non-CU types) how beautiful the campus is, I was actually kind of relishing the idea or parking at a pretty good distance so as to walk through as much of the campus as possible. If it's anything other than a night game, we'll presumably not need our car until well after the game anyway... I am betting we'll want to stick around and visit some more.

Zona is Parent's Weekend so I'd expect a pretty good turnout and if CU beats AFA and ASU then there could be a buzz in Boulder for this game and great turnout.
I really wish the kickoff could be 5 p.m. but we never seem to get this slot anymore.

Some guy in a CU shirt next to me at a UF game? The horror.

I mean, why not? As long as you're being an alright dude at the game.

Also, looking ahead to CU/UF... can never be too sure about these things, but I suspect -- unless, perhaps, if both teams are at top-10 level by that time -- it'll be a more friendly match-up as far as the fans go. Sure, some clowns from UF will ruin it for someone, and some clowns from CU will ruin it for someone else. But there's no significant history between the two, and I think both fanbases will be excited for something new. I hope you visit Gainesville for that game and enjoy what I sincerely believe is (at capacity, anyway) one of the best big-game environments in the country. And I similarly hope to see many other Gators getting above sea-level and into Boulder for our first non-conference, non-neutral meet-up outside of the state in far, far too long.

Don't wear ****braska red or CSU green, and no one will care. Rep your school.

However, you should buy a CU hat. They are dope and better than all other hats.
This.

It's Boulder, most people don't care as long as you aren't in their face with the two schools that Snow mentions.

It isn't like some of the SEC or B12 stadiums where everyone color coordinates and treats what they wear as a life and death decision.

Also agree though with the hat. Our colors along with our logos and mascot make it easy to have a variety of cool hats, and as long as you are wearing the CU hat nobody is going to even be confused by your other clothing.

The hat by the way brings up another issue for you to pay attention to. You are going to a game at high altitude in dry air on what should be a sunny day. Colorado is known for our rates of skin cancer. If you don't want to leave the game with your skin the same red as our last opponents make sure you have a good hat and apply sunscreen (more than once.) You will also notice that almost everyone wears sunglasses, it isn't just about style, you can sunburn your eyes.

Okay then add ManU guy to Vol guy on the growing list of people that I am not, do not know, have not met, and will not be bringing with me to Folsom.

I'm hoping for at least an afternoon kickoff, night game at best. So hopefully y'all win out in the coming weeks... and that Arizona plays along well enough to get an kick time better than 11 a.m.

I'm down with that. Good chance I leave Boulder with a hat.

Your above commentary is most appreciated... I'm a human torpedo these days, if you follow, so I'm hyper aware of the misery of a scorched dome.

Sensible response from someone committed to wearing Gator gear. I obviously don’t agree with that, but I do respect your hedge involving alright dudes. Good call on the hat👍🏽

The UF game is circled. Be fun to make that trip the Swamp when the time comes.

So many road trips to SEC campuses are on the wish list. They tend to be once in a lifetime opportunities.

Other than A&M and UGA, Buffs have had few opportunities to see what the SEC scene is all about.

It’s a stunning dereliction of scheduling that there is zero history between our programs after all these years. Kudos to our AD’s for finally doing something about that.

I wouldn't give a ****.

Amigo - you live in Dallas, the heart of good Tex-Mex. I lived there for 14 years. When you come up here though - get need to get yourself some green chili. Green chili hand-held breakfast burritos (and a cold one or 3) are a good way to start game day mountain style. It ain't Tex-Mex, but you will be pleased.

I can dig it. It's hard not to become a Tex-Mex / Mexican food snob when you live in a border state, but I'm not so provincial as to believe that nobody can do it quite right anywhere else. In light of your 14 years of Texas experience, I'll take your rec on the green chili burritos!

The Colorado green chili craze migrated north from New Mexico, famous for its Hatch Green Chili. New Mexico knows its stuff when it comes to chili and "New" Mexican food. Puddinhead's right, it's definitely not Tex-Mex...some would say even better. Definitely worth a go.

I was actually wondering about that -- how much influence New Mexico had on Colorado cuisine. The hatch stuff has certainly invaded Texas as well (and is very much welcomed). I think August (?) is when most of the restaurants and super markets around here go hatch-crazy. I can't bring myself to throw it into everything (chocolate hatch cupcakes, etc.), but as a compliment to virtually any meat dish, or of course in anything remotely resembling Mexican food, absolutely!

Skiddy gon skid.
