Karl Dorrell officially named Colorado HC

Bad Quip. Capitalism doesn’t limit best interest to just financial return. It includes non monetary utility! And community matters. Some value more or less That is the problem often times with left learners. They fail to incorporate the greater good they espouse into the capitalist utility equation. There is nothing more rewarding than helping people in your own “community”. Centralized safety nets rob society of said reward,

back to football. Would you take Mel back tomorrow?
This is wrong headed. Capitalism dictates that people make their individual determinations of what’s in their own rational self interest. Theoretically people will make determinations of interest based in community presuming a lack of physical mobility. We do not have these constraints in this situation since Tucker has a pile of money and a job in a new, far away place. In the capitalist structure of college football coaching, this coach was faced with a decision to choose between his affinity for Colorado and absurd money. He was offered a reward that overwhelmed affinity and buried his consideration for other people’s happiness.

Our happiness or opinion of Tucker does not overcome the reward of $18 million. This is capitalism of college football.

And yes, I would take him back tomorrow if he were contrite largely because I think he gives us the best chance to win compared to unknowns. Ultimately, this won’t happen because he’s burned the bridge and Colorado is on the outside looking in.

Allbuffs,

You don’t have to belittle or criticize people who share a differing opinion from you. There is a way to have polite, mature conversations without putting people down and we all know that. Just because it’s the internet and there’s no recourse doesn’t make it right and everyone knows you wouldn’t treat a stranger on the street like this. We’re all Buffs here and we’re all in this for the same goal, support the kids and win.

The faster some of you realize you can make this **** hole a lot more tolerable the better of it will be.

EB seems so strange to me. He doesn't stir the drink in KC, but is likely on tap for an NFL job.... And he also was part of that really, really messy breakup in 2012.... Really not that long ago.

It would be very hard to complain about getting a guy who is a top NFL coaching prospect.

I don't see it happening. The fit and history seem so off

So your argument is “say no top 15 money that is there right in front of you, all you need to do is say yes” to maybe get to the same point again by proving yourself and by being successful at CU?
No. My argument is that you don’t make a promise to 120 people then break that promise for top 15 money when you can maintain your integrity and honor and still become a very wealthy man. And word is RG was either going to match or, in the least, give him a significant raise. He recruited 25 young men who came here in large part because of him then stabbed them in the back. That’s a huge difference over taking a job before signing day.

The only reason I could see it happening is because the buff fan base is sort of hurt and rallying around one another at the moment so maybe there is pressure from others and from himself to step up and end this moment in time. Also the pac 12 specifically was leading college football in minority head coaches so maybe he says **** you guys and get a good gig in boulder.

So who would you be ok with? Just curious.
I think going with a coordinator/assistant from a big boy program is the best formula particularly this late in the cycle when prying other HC from their job will be more difficult (assuming most have more respect for their current program than MT did). I’ve posted elsewhere but I’d be looking at:

Tony Elliot
Mike Yurcich
Graham Harrell
Alex Grinch
Tosh Lupoi
Steve Sarkisian
Andy Avalos
Tim Deruyter

I’ve also long been intrigued by Tim Brewster. He’s spent some time in Colorado (believe at least one of his kids went to Mullen) and at 59 he’s still an elite recruiter.

edit: I’d also at least put feelers out on Peterson even if the chances of him coming are next to none.

You are an idiot. In the unlikely event you’re ever offered a $14 million raise, go ahead and send me your declination letter.

Edit: $18,250,000 is the actual number. $33mm over 6 years compared to $14.75mm over 5 years. Clown college for buffs14 - definitely not a graduate of Colorado.
What about Rick George offering to match MSU’s offer or at least greatly increase Tucker’s salary do you not get? Have you been paying attention to how this went down? You totally disregard that CU was going to greatly increase his salary.
