This will be Rick’s second HC hire. Except for a minor glitch that no AD could’ve foreseen, he hit a home run on his first hire. Remember, he inherited FHCMM.

I trust RG will hit a home run in his second hire as well and this time he will do all he can to find a guy that, if successful, will not seek greener pastures after a couple of seasons. But there are never guarantees. As long as the next guy leaves us better than we were, we will be okay.

I wouldn't go and call a coach a home run simply based on potential and promise after one year.

That's what we need, a MAN; that way we can show up CSU's "dude."

More seriously, Gundy would be a hell of a steal.
That MAN is now 52, crazy how long ago that famous quote was.

Also in addition to tracking flights, shouldn’t we just have someone camped out at Pasta Jays? Seems like last time most of the news surrounded who was seen dining there with Carl.

Been watching the turn of events at CU. Kind of a ****ty hand MT delt out.

What about Josh Heupel? He seems to win games at Central Florida. Recruits pretty good too and has connections.

Actually a good suggestion, but he's kind of meh. Any of us could go to UCF and tear it up. I like guys like Harsin and Blake Anderson more. I haven't heard anything connecting him here either.

Widely lauded as a home run in the coaching community, he brought in excitement and a massive top end talent upgrade, he brought new enthusiasm to the program not seen in decades and was then hired away to become one of the top dozen paid coaches in the country.

In fact, RG and LC did hit a home run last time. It turned out to be a solo shot in the 1st inning but a home run nonetheless.

He also went 5 and 7, lost at home to Air Force, made some questionable decisions that might have cost them the game against USC. All with a 5th year starter at QB and a future 1st rounder at WR.

I was encouraged by the recruiting class and that CU won some battles it seemed like they normally lose but calling him a home run seems a little hyperbolic.

It does take time to get your system in place...get the players you want to run your style of ball.

Sure, but the cupboard wasn’t bare and better in game coaching decisions probably get them to a Bowl game, so I’d pump the brakes on home run. There are sill question marks about his ability as a coach on game days, imo.
