You didn’t enjoy this classic?
Couldn't help yourself...I won't let you ruin a good day.

Renck said that would be the contract for “the next coach” which was going to be Sark. He is guessing that’s what it will be for Dorrell too. I’m skeptical, but either way, it also comes with an increased AC salary pool
Schek, looks like I am the one that owes the apology. I was convinced that we were going to close on a different coach this week....thus my confidence that it would all turn out fine. It all went right up until yesterday, and it didn’t happen....I was wrong at the end of the day. That money is what was being offered. I am bummed (all around).

Go Buffs.

Yeah I saw that but his reasoning was “underachieved at UCLA”, which I don’t really believe to be true. Clays reason is because he didn’t do well as OC at Vandy. Vandy scored 18 ppg this year, so Clay is just really a moron.

But GS also said that they should have gone with Grinch or Harrell and I think he has good football opinions when it comes to X's and O's and coaching. He also does a fair amount of work for the Pac12 Network so he's pretty dialed in.

That doesn’t answer the question or address your post. Please explain how he’s “Embree with lipstick”.
So instead of telling us how this is so, you just added new names to the list. Got it.
Uninspiring hire
WCO
Journeyman NFL assistant
No current profile with recruits
Headscratcher among many fans.

a steep fall from Sark.

I know and I would have loved them to go with Grinch as well. I would have loved them to go with Sark. I would have also loved them to go with Bob Stoops or Urban Meyer. Let’s not confuse this with Dorrell being their #1 candidate.

Sure Sark said no but there's no indications they went after Grinch and offered him the job

Agreed
Nobody tells you what to do, but how about a 24 hour rule on bitching and negativity and then we come together! This keeps DC in a great position with a man he likes and trusts. Still allows for most of what I want! Wish Els could tell MT to F off and rip up whatever MSU deal and come back!
You are all over the place. I can’t follow. Notwithstanding Chiv, rate the hire 1-10. Then maybe I can understand.
I say 3. 4 would be a stretch. You?

I take it you still think he has the connections in So Cal that he had 13 years ago. Better hope he has an Antonio or 4 in his back pocket like Herm did. I just can't get excited about a guy who couldn't climb up the ladder from being a position coach all those years if he's so good. How many players did he develope into pro bowlers let alone all pro? I ask because I don't know and I'm trying to understand this hire and how it moves CU forward and being champions. Feels like RG has punted on that idea, Mel really did a number on Rick for him to settle on KD

Since I said nothing about his current recruiting connections in socal or anywhere else, Im not sure why you think you are refuting my point, which was that karl dorrell had a much harder competitive situation than jim mora at ucla.

And karl dorrell did climb the ladder. He went from a college wr coach for about 5 years to being an excellent offensive coordinator for cu and washington to qualifying for 5 straight bowls as a head coach(with the worst facilities in the pac qp at the time), before he got fired for not meeting dan guerrero’s expectation that ucla win 10 games in 2007. He then spent the last 13 years as a highly regarded position coach in the nfl. If you want to hold it against him that he never got bumped up to oc in the pros, I would respectfully suggest that you take a look at the guys who get one nfl coordinator gig after another regardless of how mediocre their results and ask yourself what they have in common with each other, and what they don't have in common with karl dorrell.

I’ll try this way. He is marginally better than Embtree. Isn’t that what “X with lipstick” meand?

Embree was 2. This guy is a 3.
Not any better. Embree won 3 games in 2 years and cratered this program to unthinkable levels of ineptitude. Dorrell won 7 games/year on average at UCLA and had a 10 win season. Recruited in the 20s with an outlier season at 57. Just stop.

It says maybe this guy has integrity and didn't stoop to Carroll's level just to win football games.
Cool? Honestly I’m ready to toe the line a little more on acceptable recruiting behavior - Eagle Scouts don’t win in today’s college football.
