My buddy who has a Rivals sub just sent me an email letting me know that Shaun Mohler passed all his spring classes (6 total) and has two more this summer before heading to Boulder in July. Apparently there was quite a bit of worrying on that site about whether or not he would make it (PT Gates style).

Way to go Shaun and finally some good news! This will make it a lot easier to redshirt the freshman LBs (unless they are superstars) and also shows Shaun's determination and desire to be a Buff!

I heard he was on campus last weekend with Terrell Pryor, Julio Jones, and the entire starting 11 from the Steel Curtain Defense and he had his transcripts in hand.

Hey Chilly, I believe Elvis was there also!!

Didn't they have a field trip to Darrell Scott's mom's bank??

Thanks for the post! Congrats Mohler

Glad you did bring it up. I imagine Shaun's gonna have a memorable trip to stincoln this year.

Has anybody heard any other academic news, current roster or recruits??? (knocking on wood as I write this)

Shaun Mohler still has to take & pass two summer school classes-

should be easy if he was able to handle six this spring but
nothing is a done deal until I see him wearing black & gold
this August on the lower practice fields..

Two summer school classes should be no big deal. In fact, if his JC operates the way CU does, he'll be done with his summer classes by the 4th of July.

He is planning on being in Boulder by mid-July.

:yeahthat:
How many times have we had an athlete here on campus, ready to play, and he's stuck waiting for the JC or CU to play the paperwork so he can transfer and start playing. Things are better than they were before Bohn but I still don't trust that the bureaucracy won't screw things up for a kid.

Um, really the only time that happens is when the kid's grades aren't up to par. We don't hear about any "bureaucracy issues" on those kids whose grades are good.

I second what '96 says. It's not the bureaucracy that keeps these kids out. It's not getting the grades or the required classes.

It hurts that CU does not have sports management or physical education type programs at CU which a lot of athletes at other schools major in, so if a JC player is planning on majoring in that type of field the credits he has already taken for that field do not carry over to CU.

Well, then the coaches and students need to bone up on what's allowed to transfer into CU, just like every other prospective transfer student has to do. I like CU's standards for what they will and will not accept from JCs, which are quite inferior institutions.

It does not bother me one bit that CU does not have sports management or physical education type programs. In fact, it would not bother me at all if CU went to a system like Texas where they did not allow any JC credits to transfer.

That said, I am happy that Shaun Mohler is doing well and I am looking forward to seeing him in black & gold.
