the crappy teams in the big 12

1980 Southwest Conference Champions
1994 Southwest Conference Co-Champions

I remember when Mike Singletary played for them. They were pretty tough in the late 70's early 80's.

1979 8-4
1980 10-2
1985 9-3
1986 9-3
1991 8-4

yes, baylor was good, pre-b12. they had a good coach, grant teaff, and they were well known as a team that could rise up and beat a powerhouse.

in fact, they handed CU a totally ridiculous loss in 1991, the year after CU won the nc. CU was ranked 12 or so. baylor around 23rd. CU lost on a blocked kick with time expiring at the end of the game, 16-14. it was horrible.

CU went on to go undefeated in the big 8 again to cap hagan's amazing record--- undefeated as a starting qb in conference games over his 3 years.

i was wondering if baylor or iowa state have ever been good.
ISU was 2nd to CU for the Big 12 North two years in a row, I think. If they had a FG kicker who could make a 30 yder, they would have been in....

The late-swc Baylor teams were good. They were known for their hitting; pretty physical teams. ISU was decent with Seneca Wallace at qb.
