Vote for Cabral - DO IT NOW!!!

I'd rather keep it our little secret. I dont want anyone with deep pockets sniffing around our boy.

I hear rumor he hired an agent, I don't think he is going to be our little secret for long. :sad1:

Good for him. He's put in almost 2 decades of top notch work here, he deserves a head coaching gig somewhere.

Now that said, if he bones out to take over the linebacker program at a bigger school (something which I don't think he'd ever do)... well, that would just disgust the **** out of me.

I am sure he would love to stay here... he has been on board through coach after coach after coach... but remembering the recent post on assistant salaries, he just ain't gettin paid enough. Maybe an agent, if the rumor is correct, is to perhaps alleviate that discrepancy compared to the other assistants.

Nice to see not one but two Buff coaches on the list. Ron Vanderlinden from Penn State was a coach for McCartney - 1983-91.

That is awesome publicity. It's about time the rest of the CFB world knows what we've know all along. Cabral is the best LB Coach in the nation.

Geez, 3 pages in and that thread deteriorated into nothing but conference smack, and zip about LB coaches. typical.

Not yet. Look for him to be at UNC up the road; just a hunch.

i would think BC could do a bit better than UNC. not a slam at UNC but given his record.....

i guess his problem is that he has not been a DC and thus lacks real HC credenitals thus UNC would be a launching point for him?

Cabral applied for that job when Barnett got fired, but they passed over him for Scott Downing from NU. Downing's contract was for $80 or $90k, so financially it is almost certainly less than what Cabral earns today.

now that you mention the story about the UNC job, that does ring a bell.

it just seems a bit of an "under-employed" situation to me given his resume. however, like i said, his lack of ever being a DC may hurt him and he may have to take that sort of step before becoming a major college coach.

i would have just figured he, and a school like SDSU, Indiana, Purdue ect would take a chance on eachother. you know, lower performing div 1 schools rather than a UNC. but, who knows. i hope he stays at CU till he wants to retire.

he is a great LB coach and in many ways i am rather suprised that he is still here given the money he could be making coaching lb's at schools like SC, florida, texas, michigan ect. i KNOW he has the resume for that!!!
