USC fires Clay Helton

What‘s wrong witch Luke Fickell. Back to back 11 win seasons at UC isn’t too shabby, but then again I was really high on hiring Dan Hawkins.
I don't think anything is wrong with Fickell, I think out of the three I listed for what I think they will do he's the best candidate. But I wouldn't put him above the Franklin, Cristobal, or Campbell.

Man, I really don’t think USC is a better job than Oregon right now. I’d be stunned if they could lure Cristobal away.
You've seen what Cristobal can do when he has to go into California and fight for those recruits who grew up watching USC/UCLA. Imagine what he would do if they were all in his backyard. Cristobal would absolutely clean house there. As in, I wouldn't be surprised if they finished top 3 year in, year out recruiting with him there.

That is not how the usc faithful will see it. More money, more tradition, more resources, not in the state of oregon AND a chance to pop another p12 power right in the face.

this would be an on-brand usc hire.

USC football HC is the premium job in the Pac-12.

I don't see Cristobal taking the job as he'd be trading up from #2 to #1 which is not worth the risk. This hire won't come from the current roster of Pac-12 coaches.

There is precedent. Sarkisian was hired away from UW.
Let’s hope whoever they hire has the same kind of flame-out that Sark had at USC.

Call me crazy but if I have to pick between Helton as OC vs Chev... I think I'm taking Helton. He was kept through three different staffs as an offensive guy.
Yes, what was assumed in my post is that Chev is demoted to chair stacker or something meaningful like that.
