Did I miss this somewhere?

I had a buddy email me asking what I thought about them changing defenses and I had no idea what he was talking about.

Are we switching to a 3-4?

The usual talk of getting our best defenders on the field.

Maybe for WVU?

nope. actually its a 0-1-0 d. hawk is going to play D Scott on the D. he will be the D. in addition to his punting duties he will be the D. and i dont mean he will play as a part of the D, he WILL BE THE DEFENSE!!!! they will put him in at a LB position. as the ball is snapped, the opposing offense will automatically fumble the ball due to his presence. he will then pick up the fumble, after giving all 5 opposing OL men ACL tears, and run it in for a touchdown.

well actually, he will be the offense too. hawk does not want the other 10 players getting in his way on a play. they will just prove to be a distraction to DS, so hawk has made the decision that DS will be the center and snap the ball to himself, hand off to himself and pass to himself so no other idots can get in the way. things should run a lot smoother that way.

as far as the punting and the risk for injury? yea, like we are going to have to punt!!! idots!!! :smile2:

seriously.

There has been talk of this since spring ball. I don't think that they plan on using the 3-4 exclusively and will still use a 4-3 base a good amount of the time. I believe this idea is being tossed around because of the talent/depth we have at linebacker and the fact that it will help with the pass rush. It will definitely help out our secondary if we are consistently in the opposing QBs face.

And I used to think that Bo Jackson was da shtT

I have a tough time believing the 3-4 will work with us. Who is going to play nose tackle, Hypolite? He is 290. We don't have a big enough NT and ends to make is successful. Nick Kasa could be a monster of a 3-4 end tho with his frame.

a lot of teams are switching to 3-4, with the lack of true DTs available in recruiting and coaches wanting to get their best athletes on the field to counter "new" offenses with their best athletes, the 3-4, or 3-3-5 makes more sense.

I heard the reason Hagan didnt get that much of a raise was because he was splitting his salary with Scott so that Darell can start coaching too, and he can come back after the NFL with a guaranteed job as the Running Backs coach. Then he'll take Grimes place as running game coordinator. Oh, by then his mom will the bank president.

I heard DS was going to miss a lot of practice this fall because he is going to be the Veep pick for BO AND McCain....

I heard D Scott is looking for Chuck Norris, just so that he can kick his ass.

I don't know about the change, but what I am curious is to see how this team is with no coaching turnover for the first time in 19 years.:wow:
