Fox Sports article on the Buffs today hits the mark on some points, but totally misses the mark on others. It just goes to show you no matter what inside information any network may claim to have on any team, they never get it completely right.

FAIL for no linky

oh ya. That "window shutting" on the north nonsense is full of ****. We went toe to toe with NU atop the division for half a decade and won a National Championship. And thinking KU and UM are gonna stay at their current level is BS. KU will be done either this year or when Reesing graduates while MU will be done next year at the latest.

By "done" I mean back to their historic level or nearly.

My sentiments exactly!

Well it was a comprehensive article. I think Mohler will step right into the linbacker position and do just fine. I worry about our DBs, WRs and the article is correct in saying we need to get more pressure on opposing QBs. How has Conrad Obi been in spring/summer ball? All in all, good article but Kansas is no monster. They had a great season maily b/c they had a cake schedule. I'll take my chances with our team against Fat Mangino and the Chicken any day.
GO BUFFS!!! :slayer:

The comments to the article are ridiculous. Typical whorn fans trying to justify their constant underachievement. How lame do you have to be to post comments on another team's preview?

I think Mizzou is legit, but KU will drop off again.

Why the man-love for KSU? I thought they were having some serious problems getting their Jucos eligible.

No problem getting the Jucos into KSU (they have no requirements) then give them some retard summer classes, bump the GPA and presto, eligible players. We'ld do the same thing except CU is a real University, not a half way house like KSU.

Mizzou is legit as long as Chase Daniel is there and healthy.

I thought the preview was excellent overall. He clearly put some thought into it.

BUT...

Did I see something about CSU becoming tougher BECAUSE they have a new coach? What?!

KU a powerhouse? LOL, really? They had a great season last year, but they didn't play many strong teams either. Doesn't anyone remember the year before last? They went 6-6 and didn't go to a bowl game because of a weak non-conf. Didn't Mangino bring out Reesing against us to try and save a losing/non-bowl game season? They are coached well, no doubt about it, but there is no way they provide enough consistency to be at the top of the North. I see them as spoilers, but not a top 2-3 team in the North.

Missouri has some good people coming in so I see them as being contenders for a while, however, they are going to have a HUGE dropoff after this year. They are graduating way too many players so if they want a shot at the mNC they better hope it happens this year. They aren't going to be reloaded next year.

I'd give a lot for the Buffs to have "underachieved" like Texas has.

All you need is a boat load of talent and a lack of championships. They should have a whole lot more trophies given their talent, but they don't.

IMO the biggest truth in the article was in getting a pass rush. For too many years CU just hasn't had it and it has showed in passing yards per game and points allowed. With all the good to great QBs in the Big 12 we need to get them on their ass and not give them all day to find the open man. If we can get some serious pressure somehow, I see 9 wins this year. That's a big if, though. More of the same and I predict 6-maybe seven. Hopefully Hawk will start recruiting the same type of impact players on the D-line that he has in other areas.

Go Buffs!

Not that I'm a fan but Collin Cowherd (sp?) said something fairly interesting this moring on ESPN radio. He said QB's are always a teams MVP. Look at KU V-Tech. V-Tech had 11 guys go in the draft, KU had 1, but KU had a good Qb so they beat V-Tech handily in the bowl game.

If that's true, KU and Mizzou will be good until their QB's go and then its back to biz as usual.
