Anyone feeling the Darrell Scott hype yet?!

A UT fan at work sent me an unsolicited IM that said: "Beware of Oct. 4th. I've been hearing the horns are going to try to take out that running back your team stole from us."

Whatever. Bunch of crybabies.

Careful. They're Texas. Don't Mess With Texas.

What a bunch of pussies.

I'm not counting on it, but damn would I love to see Scott have a big game against the whorns.

****, I'd love for just about anyone on the team to have a big game against Texas. Except for our punter.

Me, too. Just saying it would be a little extra sweet for Scott to do it. But I don't care who does it to be honest.

I think Scott will really need to prove himself early on in the season before he get's a chance to play in a game of that magnitude. However, next years running game should be absolutely devistating on opposing defenses.

More unsolicited IM's at work. This one from an OU alum:

"Teammates are already comparing him [Scott] to Adrian Peterson and even Jim Brown. Can he be that good or has Jim Brown fallen that far in his old age?"

Hey, Paperclip. Scorboard! Wouldn't trade Scott for Josh 'Gangsta' Jarboe, that's for sure.

With all the Scott hype, how can a guy get any work done?

Like they took out Klatt? Texass is full of class!

Honestly I think it will take a lot to keep Scott around for 4 years, highly unlikely we redshirt him so we might as well get the most out of him while we have someone as talented as he is. Doesn't need to start right away but 10-15 carries to start the season is reasonable, next to Josh he is our most explosive weapon might as well get him ready for WVU, FSU, UT.

Adrian Peterson had 16 carries for 100 yards in his first ever game against Bowling Green.

I'd think Darrell Scott could at least equal those numbers against the Lambs.

More like 5 carries for 100 yards and 2 TDs. Add in the two INT returns we'll likely get and DScott is going to be on the bench early. I hope. :smile2:

I keep getting an image of his first play being a pitch to the right followed by a bomb to his wide open cousin. J FLy sails toward the CSU student section laughing.

just after bitching that he didnt do it on 4 carries. :smile2:

How the hell can you people say he looked good? He got tackled 3 out of his 5 carries. And this was goddamn CSU! Things are going to get real ugly against teams like West Virginia and Florida State if he can't even beat the dog**** defenders at CSU 60% of the time. It's obvious Scott is a bust. Can we finally put an end to the idea that Hawkins can recruit? It's painful. It's pathetic. Bringing in running backs who are slower than Colorado State's defensive linemen. This team is going to be lucky to win 3 games this season, especially with the ridiculous schedule coming up. While I can see Scott possibly getting a couple missed tackles again against Eastern Washington, he'll be lucky to break the line of scrimmage at all for the rest of the out of conference schedule. Markeesha all over again, you had to know it was going to turn out that way.

If you people want to be satisfied with this kid giving us two good plays against a team that allowed 12 touchdowns total on the day, feel free. But some of us have higher expectations for this program and aren't willing to settle for watching the best thing this staff can bring to this program FAIL the majority of the time against a bad team. I, for one, refuse to accept this kind of standard for CU football.

:smile2::smile2: (LCFS, try to think of it as an homage...)

That sounded a lot more like Jimmy to me. If you replaced "Hawkins" with "Barnett" then maybe it could pass as the Col.

Eh, you're probably right.

Too bad Jimmy isn't the subject of this thread... :smile2:

Jimmy is usually opptimistic before the season and then he starts bitching after the first play of the season.

Okay, go out to orange-peels, or whatever it is, and post a bunch of bogus job openings for local Boulder banks.

I'll pass on that. In addition to this bank thing with Scott, the fact that the "Nebraska" fan who perpetrated the Bowmar cocaine hoax happens to be a UT employee proves that UT is well versed in the use of bogus internet postings. I'm not stooping to that level.

My roommate just brought a freshman girl over here to work on some school stuff and we all got to talking and she lives next door to DS in the dorms. Might be hanging out with the man tonight!
