Best College Football Gam Ever

This has probably been posted on here before but anyways, in my life time I can't decide between 2002 Ohio State vs. Miami or 2005 USC vs. Texas. Oklahoma Boise St. wasn't half bad either. What would you guys say is the best ever?

I have to go with USC-Texas. Vince Young's performance in that game was the best single-game performance by an individual I have ever seen.

A couple come to mind.....

-- 1971 ou / skers.....that game had it all. Same year that CU ended up ranked 3rd behind the other 2 big 8 schools

-- Tejass / u$c.....big drama and lived up to the hype

-- 196? u$c / ucla..... Beban and OJ, #1 ranking on the line, 21-20 game

-- The Miracle in Michigan (much tougher and better ending than the famous flutie media-darling game in Miami)

Best gam? There's clearly only one choice...

I would have to go with the 84 Orange Bowl Canes vs Huskers......We went for the win instead of the tie. UT vs USC would be second in my opinion.

I remeber that one well. What was the name of the reciever that dropped a sure score? :smile2:

Texas vs Colorado same year (jk)

Ouch! The 2005 CCG beat down that UT slapped on the Buffs is still stuck in my craw.

It's too early to even joke about that. This topic falls into a place that is reserved for fallen NYC firemen, the loss off the space shuttles, and Kennedy's assassination. UT and Mack Brown won no friends across the Buff nation on that tragic day back in 2005.

The yardstick by which Hawkins is ultimately measured in my book largely depends upon his ability to dispatch UT and adequately vindicate that loss to the horns.

On a scale of 1 to 50, the 67 point difference in Houston also represents the measure of my lingering desire to smite Mack Brown and his UT football team. No small margin victory, like the 2001 CCG, will suffice. I think UT and all I can focus on is the day CU turns the tables with even a larger margin of victory.
Yes. I am that bitter.

Some good buff games that come to mind
CU/NU 1989
CU/ND 1991 OB
CU/UM 1994
CU/A&M 1995
CU/NU 1996
CU/UT 2001 B12C
CU/KSU 2002
CU/CSU 2003
CU/NU 2007

Other than that I would have to say SC/UT Rose bowl

Really? That game doesn't stick out to me at all. It was plainly obvious that we were a vastly inferior team coming in, and the game was such a complete route so early in the game that I got to the always pleasant "this doesn't even bother me anymore... this is just funny" phase well before halftime.

Honestly, for me that ISU game from last year (or Fresno in '01) hurts a hell of a lot more than the dismantling UT put on us.

Yep, the 2001 loss to Fresno prevented us from playing for the national title against Miami. Now, granted Miami probably would have beaten us like Oregon did, I bet we would have given them a better matchup than Nebraska did.

Reminds me of a saying a buddy of mine has.

"She has the kind of legs I like. Feet on one end, and a ***** on the other."

Yeah, he is a real touchy feely kind of guy.

My father-in-law puts it this way...

"Her legs are as long as anyone elses... they go all the way from her hiney to the ground.":smile2:

Doubtful. That Miami team would have killed us just like they did NU. It wouldn't have been any better.

Even at the time, I said that Oregon should have been playing Miami. I'm not as hard on GB as a lot of folks are (but nonetheless felt he had to go) BUT I felt he whined a lot about playing in the Fiesta Bowl. Don't lose two games and it turns out you control a lot more of your destiny. Furthermore, it seems that coaches that express disatisfaction with their bowl selection inevitably lose the game.
