I've got to go with the 27 - 12 victory in Stinklon 1990. Bieniemy overcame 5 fumbles to score 4 touchdowns in the 4th quarter.

I was at that game. It was so cold and rainy. My brother was in a ball wrapped in blankets under those wooden bleachers and after Bieniemy's 3rd TD, my dad lifts my brother up on to his shoulders and says, "I don't care how cold you are, you have to see this!"
Then walking out of the stadium we overheard husker fans calling for Osborne to be fired. You have to remember Osborne used to be known for not winning thr big games and husker fans thought their opportunity came when OU went down, then the Buffs were their big game and they still lost. Husker fans were pissed after that game.

I was in Saudi, listening to the game on radio. Armed Forces Radio Network tied into the fuskers radio broadcast. OMG, it was horrible and a riot, all at the same time. The play-by-play announcer's sign off for half-time was, (very excited voice) "(fusker kicker's name) 12 and Colorado nothing!".

How sweet it was in the 4th quarter, with the Buffs leading, when the 'sker s went for it on 4th down. Buffs D holds, and all hope was drained from 'morial stadium. The color commentator opined, "Well, they are the #1 team in the nation, you gotta give 'em that." To which the play-by-play hack replied (quite angrily), "I don't gotta give 'em nothing!".

Game over. I turned off the walkman and went to sleep with a huge grin on my face.

Sounds like white sox announcers! Thats awesome though.

I was at that game too. I have several enduring memories. First, EB's scored a TD after charging into the line from about the 5. From our seats, you couldn't tell where he was. It was like the play stopped, but it hadn't. Then EB squirts through and into the end zone - mayhem.

Second - Pritchards catch from Hagan when he got one foot magically down. How he made that play is beyond me. But he did, and at that point, the fusker faithfull were getting nervous.

Third, The fuskers are getting desperate, they go for it on 4th down. Big Al grabs fusker QB from the back of the shirt and slams his weak-ass punk bitch to the ground.

Last - Some ROTC guys that made the trip with us are on the field after the game. They were an insane group. One of them pulls his dick out and starts pissing on the "N". I sh!t you not. Well, the cops had put up with us until that point, but not afterwards. Some cop comes up and grabs him from behind and starts PUSHING him out of the stadium. Think about it... that's right, he's still got his dick out and is now pissing all over himself.

Ok, one more - I was freezing my ass off and was truly miserable. But then, as the 4th quarter got going, it suddenly got a lot more comfortable.

OK, now one more... Chanting at the really pissed off fusker fans as they leave the stadium "WE DON'T LIVE IN LINCOLN!!!" Ooooooohhhhh, that made em mad.

that is one dude who IMO, gets no where near the credit he deserves in CU football history. he was a sick player. played RB vs Tennessee that year and damn near had 200 yards rushing filling in for EB.

if i remember correctly, his stats in every area were better than the "Rocket" from notre dame who won the HT that year with the exception of punt returns which MP did not do.

that catch was indeed incredible, not only in his athletic ability but in permanitly putting the momentum of that game in the Buffs corner. what an amazing play that was. :wow:

:yeahthat:

Pritchard was the man. As a WR in the option offense he didn't get as many touches as some others, but he made all the little plays that the team needed as well as his fair share of big plays.

Pritch was great.

One game that does get overlooked is the CU win over CSU in 1988. the lambs won in 86 and the Buffs had to travel to Ft. Gulag stadium in 88. It took a Sal Aunese to Jo Jo Collins score in the final minute to win. bigger seasons and nationally televised games overshadow that wins, but coupled with the big win at Iowa earlier in the season, the Buffs started 1988 4-0...then lost big to Barry Sanders OSU, 17-14 to OU and Barry Switzer's last sooner team, and 7-0 to the children of the corn...hang on to the ball, JJ!!@#$#%^%^#$%&$#%#$

Pritchard had two great catches against NU in '90. One was that long pass and the other was a diving catch along the sideline inside the 5 yard line. Pritch also had a huge catch vs ND in the OB that season. And then of course he had a huge game vs. Missouri in the 5th down game.
He was drafted in the 1st round by Atlanta and played a couple years in Dnever. I would rate him as one of the best WR's at CU.

We voted him offensive player of the year in 1990, considering the talent on that team, I'd say Pritch got respect.

Did you travel with Jay and Sweeney? I think I remember Jay sharing that same story after they returned.

I remember doing that. It took over a decade before I realized that might be considered mean-spirited. But what can you do? **** 'em.

Mean spirited was the order of the day for the "Sal is dead go big red" trash.

And trust me they gave it back in spades in 92.

i've got a soft spot in my heart for the 04 KSU game in Boulder. Klatt to Monteilh, 60 yards, TD. .05 on the clock. 38-31 Buffs. thank you very much.

The worst fan behavior I have ever seen was from fusker fans in 1992. They were NASTY that year. I have never seen buff or ram fans at ANY game that were as bad as husker fans that game. Pissing on a elderly Nebraska lady and then throwing a marshmallow filled nail at her would almost equal the nastiness, seriously.

Oh and you should ask Coach McCartney about the piss that was thrown at him. And then the bottle that was thrown at Drumm in 2002. Ya, Nebraska has the best fans, biggest joke I have heard in my life. I love it every time I hear it. When ever there are jokes of any kind going around, my best joke I always mention is Nebraska fans are classy!

I was at work and was too far away to hear what was happening, but a KSU grad I work with almost fell out of his chair onto the floor. I asked him what happened, and he pointed to the radio and made a painful gesture to his head. A goodbye present for Bill Snyder who retired that year after 17 years as the biggest cup-cake eating slimeball to ever coach in the Midwest. The same jellyfish spine piece of $hit that allowed El Robertson to play in a bowl game, and after KSU lost the game, he kicked him off the team. One of the all time biggest skumbags to ever coach in college football.

Jay Bob Rutter!!! YES!! Do you know him? We were fraternity brothers. He was one insane guy. I thought the world of him, though.

We were all ROTC. Yup, he was nuts, and for ten cents he'd show them to you.

Bumped into someone fishing two or three years ago who had a couple of Jay Rutter stories. Same tricks. :wink2:

That was fun. Pretty cool, overcast day and lots of empty seats that day. Great ending though.

The best part was that it was just a regular pass, nothing special about the design of the play. Monteilh just happened to get behind the defense.

I heard through the grapevine that he's a major or a colonel now? Is that true?

I'd have to say coming from 17 down to beat the #3 team in the country last year was a damn good come from behind victory. Anyone know what the largest deficit the buffs have ever come back from is? Rep to those that answer correctly
