Iltis torn ACL

If this has not been posted already, I have heard from multiple sources he tore his ACL. All of a sudden we are two guards down. It looks like Head will start at one of the guard positions and the other will be up to win.

Atkins had an awesome spring imo. I hope he can continue that into the fall. I know they have him listed as a OT. I think they can have him switch. Devin Head isn't a scrub out there either. I really think he can step up big time for us. And MTM is the unknown at this point.

Damn, feel bad for him. CU's depth at OL is back to square one. We have redshirt freshman all over and in 4 months we've lost, maiava, faatagi, tau and now iltis.

CU can't afford any more injuries, other than miller, solder, head and sanders,we have behrens, bahr, adkins, daniels clark and tuoti.Dannewitz and givens look like redshirts.

Celestine better have the grades or we are going to be paper thin there too.

This isn't what we needed to start the 08 season, hopefully some good news will be coming soon. :sad2:

We aren't back to square one. Guard has always been the weakspot on the line imo. Nobody has stepped up. I really wouldn't call Tau a loss. He wasn't very impressive during the spring. Besides, he's a tackle.

I tore an ACL, it sucks and I feel bad for Iltis. Fataagi was a loss IMO, but not a crippling one. He did not really stand out in my mind at the Spring game. I'd rather have him eligible than not, but Head will probably nail down one spot. Bahr and Behrens will have to compete for the other spot.

CU still has a good compliment of OL:

Head, Bahr, Behrens, Sanders, Miller, Solder, Daniels, Adkins are the scholly guys. Stevens and Clark are a couple of WO's who give some depth. That's 10 guys. Add in MTM, Givens and Dannewitz and that is some good depth. IMO you want 15 scholly OL at any given time, but CU is getting there....

It sounds like he will be all set come fall. I really hope that Simas gets his **** together this year and returns better, bigger and faster next year.Blackman has a good chance to make some plays this year and I hope he realizes that he also is in school and keeps his grades up.

It sucks right now, but it may end up being a pretty good situation in the end because we should have four returning starters next year on the line. Add in a JUCO center and you're looking at an experienced OL.

With the transfer from Maryland a JUCO center might not be necessary. With Iltis out for the season he should be able to get a medical redshirt and 4 more eligible season right? That would allow Hawk and company to recruit one less offensive lineman this cycle.

That's great but i'm more concerned about this year.:smile2:

I am too. I happen to agree with valdez though, I don't think our guards were ever going to be great this year either way. But we are at the point where we can't afford to lose anyone else.

Now Tau is average? Maiva was a god last year,as soon as he "he would have been replaced".

People were bragging up fataagi, soon as his done " well he never played so".

Now,you have tau who people were calling a beast and hyping him up and now it's" he didn't look very good in spring etc..."

Which is it folks?

I don't see how anyone can say Tau was great this spring. He really wasn't impressive. Does it hurt losing him? Of course, but you can't blame fans for being more excited about Solder and Miller.

Maiva has been covered too many times to count. I will say it again-he will not be the overriding reason why CU succeeds or fails this year.

Fataagi is a pretty big loss IMO, but I do think the coaches had to have some sort of contingency plan because it's not like his academic situation was a slam dunk.

We still have three positions solidly filled and have an experienced guy in Devin Head that should take a fourth position. Considering where we've come from in the last few years, I can't help but be encouraged right now.

Go F%#k yourself.

People hype players then they pull a 360 when the player is gone.

hoo-waa

No. You can look back at posts in the Spring. Valdez openly questioned Tau and so did the Daily Camera. So there were plenty of questions about him in the Spring as to what was going on with him.

I'm not talking about valdezj, my post was directed at col. slade.

I'm never posting a concern again, 1/2 the buff fans can't handle it and deem you as not a true buff fan.

I guess these OL recruits aren't as good as their being hyped.

I wasn't.

If Psycho can find a single post where I ever praised Tau (or any other recruit), only to bury him afterwards, please show it to me.

Did I say you or single YOU out? You sensitive? Maybe I should have said most on NETBUFFS and that would have made more sense because that's what I'm reading and some of those over there post here.

Didn't mean everyone or you.

Kill

You are right. We are screwed. The guys we lost are the best that ever was and we have no hope. We should all commit hari kari immediatly. You go first.:wink2:

Nothing about reading Netbuffs makes sense, let alone MORE sense...
