I heard that TWheat was tearing it up in camp - any word on Dizon out in Detroit?

I talked to a random detroit fan who was in the Dark Horse and he said that Dizon is expected to start. thats all the info i have tho

I heard TWheat's assignment in camp is Moss, and he's holding his own. Barring injury, he should have a good career.

Saw where Bloom is trying to get on with the Steelers. Had two fair catches and a run (?) for no gain. Didn't see the game so can't say what that means but probably not what he was hoping for.

Not necessarily. Though big returns are a plus, teams are more worried about crippling turnovers. Showing that you can be relied on to make the smart choice and catch the ball above all else can be just as important as ripping off a couple big returns. That's why we had Chase catching punts last year even though we could have put a couple other guys who might have been more dangerous on the return. He never dropped the ball and made smart choices every time.

Except in the bowl game when the punt bounced off of his head...:wow:

Oh yeah, I forgot about that one. But, at least he got it out of bounds safely...

But, I think I remember reading sometime late in the season that he had never dropped a punt in practice or games all year. Funny if his first muff was in his last game.

Hey...I think he won the OU game with his late return.....he was terrific last year.

Dizon has been doing okay. One of the coaches commented that they had to rein him in, a bit. He's been doing a rookie blog for the Lions on their website.

TWheat has been practicing against moss, and has been burned a couple of times by rm. But one report has it that he's been pretty impressive throughout camp. One of the commentaries/analysis from the 1st preseason game was that tight coverage by TWheat and another corner (might have been Hobbs) lead to a sack and fumble.

That is a pretty tough guy to cover. Height and speed are his game. Throw in years of expirience and T-Wheat has his hands full.

What DB wouldn't be burned by Randy - freegin' - Moss! T-Wheat is practicing against one of the greats. Great for his development.
