#Fire Coach Dorrell

The saddest part is that Nebraska is paying Frost $15m to go away, a number that would have dropped to $7.5m had they waited 3 more weeks. Karl’s entire remaining contract after this season is $7.8m and we are sitting here wondering if we have the ability to pay that or not.

In retrospect, I wish we had kept MacIntyre. Going 5-7 was infinitely better than this abomination

I get it…CU likes the clean wholesome guys who can’t recruit or win. Mac was a sleezeball and that’s why CU got into the upper echelon of CFB with him.
Mac was a sleaze ball in recruiting. My track record is pretty open about being all in favor of that.

Hugh Freeze is a horrible horrible awful just disdainful human being. Hard ****ing pass.

Breaking news from Twitter. Karl Dorrell signs 5 year, $25M fully guaranteed contract extension.

Reached at a Nike shoe photo shoot, Colorado AD Rick George stated, “we believe in Karl and wanted to make a statement going into this season, um, what? The season has started already? Well, the kids really respond to Karl and sports photographers around the country can attest to his fiery coaching style. With Nebraska firing Scott Frost today, we wanted to let them know that Karl will be at CU for a long time, or until someone in charge cuts off my credit card. Go Buffs!”

CU would have to mortgage a few buildings to get enough money to hire a coach who'd help us get in a better conference

The AD still owes the Pac-12 many millions. We have no sugar daddy. From where would the money come?

Dumb question time (and I assume the worst because RG did the contract) - if we fire him I know his salary is guaranteed so we have to pay every bloody cent, but do we have to do it all up front when he's fired or is it payable over the length of the contract? And if it's up front if he's fired, what if we give him a cushy no-show job and "re-assign" him, can we then pay it over the length of the contract?

Yeah, I'm grasping at straws here, but it's all we have at this point.

Payable over the length of the contract. Schools will often negotiate a smaller lump sum payment (like the cash value of the Powerball winnings).

And I was ridiculed 3 weeks ago when said buckle up, this is going to be worse than the Embree seasons.
Things are so bad, by week 6, with things at an all-time low for D1 level, RG will have to fire Dorrell. The blowback is coming hard from boosters and Alum. No way Dorrell survives the season at this pace. Potentially RG is gone if he sits on this decision to long.
My suggestion, bite the bullet, pay the buyout and give Herman $5M per year, starting after the Minn game. (We can start on OnlyFans page to help with budget)

Haven’t researched it myself, but this is why I expect us to finish the season with KD. Regardless of 0-12, 1-11, or 2-10.

this is really depressing info about the buy-out. But what is the cost of not firing the coaching staff and waiting?

do you all think that the new CU President will be okay seeing all the embarrassing stats and an 0-12 season? I sure hope not. Does anyone know if he’s a big supporter of the team? I’m a proud alum. I just don’t see how anyone would be okay with the product we’re seeing.
