I was thinking about that. You think the new CU assistants who aren't coming from JSU might get here before Prime gets back to start cleaning house?
 
The team meeting video made me realize just how ****ed the culture is and has been at CU. Hiring bad HCs, allowing bad assistants to be hired, no accountability, throwing pizza parties and doing soccer penalty kicks. Maybe the last two are solely about doing something fun in the midst of a **** season, but it really does feel like many of the people who comprise this program have been stealing for years

yes, i think he has even non-coaching people doing evals right now and they are going to send a whole lotta players out the door before he even gets here.

He gives all kids a chance to prove themselves and even rewards walk ons who are elite workers and can execute.

When he says, Fast, tough, smart, discipline, with character, he means it.

I am realizing you guys have no clue what you signed up for. Deion is a hell of a coach. More of an CEO. Extremely hard worker. His focus is that his players are elite on and off the field. He's big on overall development. Has the kids train to speak to the media and public. How to carry yourself as a student. Be a leader. He really gives a damn. Way more than any coach I've had in my life by a mile.

And that's another joke. Barzil is the bomb and worth every penny.

Tim Brewster and the others are breaking down film seeing who they want to keep or cut right now. These are guys who recruited Kyle Pitts and other elite players. They know what greatness looks like.

thanks for joining us, seriously. if you are a long time follower of Prime, your insights are appreciated. that team meeting was brutal but a coach like that is exactly what i would have wanted back in the day. help me get better, tell me if i am not good enough, and don't **** around. that isn't a super modern approach and it is going to be a fun ride.

one thing that really did stand out to me watching that jsu game-- they fly around. a lot of the guys are smaller than p5 guys but they are moving at full speed.

and yeah, how do you know what you get in a coach until he shows up and coaches? dan ****ing hawkins came here with a great resume and all the talking heads said he was a home run.

prime feels so much different than that.

Many of those guys just aren't P5 guys even if they were in the P5 previously. Lack the size needed especially in the trenches. But JSU got a lot of speed and talent. The secondary is P5 level though. That's where they can easily replace what's at Colorado right now and be superior. Best secondary in the FCS by a mile although they didn't play like it last night. Seems like everyone mind wasn't quite in it.

True. It's hard to say. Dan did excellent work at Boise but the level of athletes you have to recruit at this level is just higher than at a G5. Bryan Harsin had the same issue. It didn't help his son sucked at QB. That really hurt the program.

Deion will bring top talent to Colorado. That's what he does. He's an elite recruiter but kids want to play for him regardless of race

yeah in the team meeting he said he was heading out to finish business but that he would be back and he didn't specify exactly when he would be back and made that also clear.

he did mention that he does know how to multi-task... baseball and football at the same time.

my guess is there are going to be a whole bunch of offers going out to portal and hs guys and that we are going to see a lot of roster action and new coach hires despite the fact he is not physically in boulder.

by Christmas, i suspect we will a really good sense of what the team is going to look like next season.

i am personally stoked.

Oh, I missed that nugget. That whole press conference was legendary. It needs to be transcribed and laminated. Too blessed to stress.
 
Is it my black and gold colored glasses, or was that the most entertaining introductory press conference ever?

I don’t even care if an asteroid wipes us all out in five years as long as we see our Buffs in the playoffs first.
