Just get it over with. Syracuse goes down 42-28 to Akron, the mighty Zips. :sad1:

The PSU-SU game next week will not be pretty.

Gosh, its really amazing to see how far Syracuse's program has fallen.. Its almost like they are what Temple used to be for the Big East..

Does Syracuse play Pitt this year? There would be a real clash of the titans at HC, huh?

I was at the carrier dome today to watch the once proud syrscuse orange be totally embarassesd. it was absolutely pathetic to watch. the place was empty and the boo birds were out in the first 2 minutes of the game. there wasn't a person in the place not calling for g rob to be fired. he has made a mockery of syracuse football.

I am wondering how the broncos were able to win two superbowls with that guy?

He wasn't in charge thats why.

Firing the guy that brought you McNabb, Harrison and Allstot was not a good decision based on where there at now.

Skip Holtz is going to be a hot commodity come this off season.

because at the end of the first quarter against darn near everybody, Elway and Shanny (back when he WAS the Mastermind) had staked the Broncs to a 21-0 lead.

teams had to change their play-calling from way behind and Robinson's very talented and Pat Bolen paid for D could pin their ears back and go after the QB.

Yes on 9/27 in Syracuse.

So I take it the listed crowd of 31K was an exaggeration?

I'm going up for the Lousville game.

This tread has gotten me thinking - where's our boy Tucker, I'm sure he has some thoughts on the subject?

Greg Robinson is an above average college DC. But running an entire team? Clearly didn't work out for him. I'm surprised he's lasted as long as he has there. He'll land on his feet somewhere back at DC and hopefully learn not to try his assets at the next level again.

Greg Robinson is a doooche.... the year before he became the HC at 'Cuse, after the RRSO he came running off the field up the tunnel not 15 feet from me, the guy was crying his ass off and when someone notice and yelled "****ing crybaby" :smile2: at him, he flipped off the OU crowd....

Sounds like Holtz is already being targeted. Whether or not he'd go to SU or wait for a better job to open remains to be seen. Of course this all very early speculation.

The only question remaining is when to do it if you are Daryl Gross.

Gross won't fire him this week and probably won't next week after an inevitable loss to Penn State.

That said, they lose to Northeastern, and Greg shouldn't even make it off the field with the title of head coach next to his name.

The fear Gross has is that if you fire the coach now it signals chaos in the program.

Well, doesn't losing to Akron signal chaos?

What do you really have to lose letting Mitch Browning run the show the rest of the year on an interim basis? You aren't going to find your permanent head coach until after the season anyway. Gross likes Browning a lot. He has told me as much several times in chats we have had on the radio and elsewhere. I'm sure he has confidence in his ability to run the team for 9-10 games.

George W.Bush has better approval ratings these days than Grob. We have reached the point now where Daryl just has to make a clean break. I have no idea what kind of financial penalty would come if Grob was fired now. The bigger question is can you afford to have him coach the team the rest of the season?

It would be better for Gross to eliminate the distraction now and send the message to the fans that he has begun the process to fix Syracuse Football.

Right here, right now.

Several spies tell me that the wheels are churning furiously behind the scenes on replacing Robinson. There is a plan in place, candidates are lined up (Skip Holtz is very high on that list by the way), and it is just a matter of when to strike.

Gross is now in the position that he has to send a message publicly that he won't tolerate this.
To use Greg Robinson's own words, "the time for talking is over." Making more statements will do Daryl no good. It is time for some action.

Gross told me on the radio before the season that it would be "obvious" if a change had to be made here.

Well, I got news for you.

"Obvious" is banging on the door, Daryl.

I know that's a ****ing lie.

I'm a Colorado fan so I don't give a crap what Syracuse does.

dude, why would I lie about something I saw 1st hand, just a few feet from me.... the guy lost in that game as he went up to the sideline where OU fans were taunting him and start "jawing" with the OU fans, almost to the point he started to climb in the stands.... he had to be restrained by Texas players and coaching staff..... They should this on the video screen during the game....

Pitt 6
Syracuse 14 with 6min left in the 2nd.

There's no way Wanny is not on his way out after this season after the expectations they set for Pitt this year. Syracuse, well, that's a whole other issue.

holy **** its a varsity sighting... whats next... Elvis returns.. Michael Jackson turns black again... I dunno if i could take it

I'm from upstate NY, I go to these pathetic games, not sure why but I guess if you drink enough beer before it starts and then continue on until they cut you off at the beginning of the 2nd half you can make it through.

Anyway there was a point to this post and that was to say Lloyd Carr was on campus this week at Cuse, not sure if that is a signal of anything.
