Washington got jobbed vs the mormons

I hate the celebration penalty regardless of when they call it, but especially in a situation like this.

I saw that. I think they called it because it looked like Locker spiked the ball behind his head/back. But he and his teammates weren't talking trash or dancing and pointing. I didn't see anything wrong with it.

I'll bet all the conferences and the ncaa will be looking at that one tormorrow or Monday.

If you can't stop a team from blocking an extra point you don't deserve to win.
Keep religion off of the board!!

That was a horrible call. But that's NCAA officiating, regardless of conference (I'm talking to YOU Clete Bakeman!!!). Small-minded twits who insist on making themselves the center of attention.

if you think that is an example of religion on the board, take a friendly few words of advice and stay away from the politics forum.

Yep, the old adage of people with any amount of power taking full advantage of it applies here.

That xp became a 35 yard fg because of those ****ing IDOTS.
They blocked it. It's not like he missed it. BYU did the same thing last year in their bowl game against UCLA. A 35 yard field goal is not any easier to block than an extra point. You put the same trajectory on both. Besides BYU dominated the whole game. Look at the statistics.

A 35 yard fieldgoal is FAR easier to block than an extra point, you don't put the same trajectory on both.

Pac 10 officials are awful, so much for having a home conference crew and they make calls like this. It is just awful

New NCAA rules state officials MUST make this call if the ball is not given to the referee or placed directly on the ground. This is not a judgment call. Rules are rules. Good call.

Then the rule needs to be changed. As many people have pointed out, there was no taunting just simple exhuberance. Please do not let CFB become as dull as the NFL.

then there were quite a few noncalls yesterday for the same thing.

it was a crappy call.

I hate almost all celebration calls. Anything short of the old Ocho Cinco celebrations or the Georgia Beach Clearing celebration should be allowed (but those are still pretty awesome)

Exactly! Only make the rule if it's for an extremely obvious taunting call, and even in that case I'd rather see them err on the side of caution and not make the call. But team celebrations should be totally allowed within reason. Like the entire UGA team coming out onto the field last year - sure, call that, but not some piddly bull**** like this.

Still, a 35 yard extra point should be made. And, yeah, CU missed a 35 yarder too. But you HAVE to make those every time.

Couldn't have said it better myself. Rep sent!

What do the refs have to do with it? The coaches come up with the rules, and they are the ones that decide to put all these different things as banned celebrations.
