...i listened to the game yesterday on the ewu netcast, and the rabid goldfish went out with an injury in q4. anybody got an update on that?

thanks in advance!

He was fired up yesterday. Kept on getting the crowd involved.

they mentioned that exactly once on the ewu broadcast. then they chose to focus on other things. i totally understand. they seemed to see the writing on the wall after the 2nd half. they were almost preparing their fans for a buff win.

anyone else listening in to the ewu guys get this sense?

yes...they definitely had the "no matter what happens, we gave it a good shot" attitude in their broadcast...

i found the first and second half to be very different with respect to that. early in the 3q, they were laughing about our fans being shocked at them "shaving buffalo butt".

but then they started pointing out the depth problems as the game progressed and how they would start to be suceptible. even when they had a comfy lead.

We (the band) were really worried when we saw him go down but he was walking it off on the sideline almost immediately. He was out on the field within a few plays tearing it up again though. He was also good to go to come conduct us in the fight song but did make his way down the Colorado ramp a little gingerly. On an interesting side note though, he no longer tries to conduct the Fight CU in 3/4 and he actually stays on tempo pretty well. I think he's been practicing...

That is one of the coolest gestures I have seen by a player.

The band kicked ass yesterday. Good job guys!!

Thanks! We really do do it for the fans. It's so exciting to see how fired everyone gets when we play. To hear 50,000+ fans singing Fight CU or telling the team to F*** 'em up reminds me why I carry that tuba around every game day. I'm really glad that the fans and this athletic department appreciate what we do and it really is the reason why I'm still doing it after four years (the record so far is 11 seasons but I know I'll never touch that)

At one point, when DS was tackled by one of Ewwwwoooos' true frosh., the announcers said, "Scott may have been a highly ranked recruit, but we'd take our freshman over him any day of the week."

Okay, buddy.

Do you do the SUPA DUPA TUBA Cheer?

As a matter of fact, I do. A bum knee has slowed me down considerably recently but I think/hope I'll be at 100% come basketball season. I really wanted to come meet some of you guys at the tailgate and pick up a rabid goldfish tee or 2 but our break wasn't quite long enough. Next time hopefully...
