The lazy rotations and being out of position on D was a team issue last night. Not just Wright and Nique. And I’m talking about when they weren’t trying to press or trap. I wouldn’t call it lazy but their heads weren’t in it last night and the shots they showed of Tad were classic coach expressions of “what are they doing? not even worth losing my voice over this”
I hate when we play that much zone. We're not as good at it and it's what UW practices against every day. They found the soft spots in the mid-range and 3 all night. They had great looks when they weren't turning it over.
I'm a big fan of the Syracuse 2-3 zone. When it's done right, its awesome to watch. I don't think UW executes nearly that well, but it was night and day watching their execution vs. the Buffs.
I will say this tho, I liked Tad upping that pace and pressure in the 2nd half with the half-court trap they were trying to get. Granted they were playing from behind, but haven't seen a lot of that in past seasons. It feels like the 1st time they tried it was a couple of weeks ago (can't remember when, maybe it was USC?). But its time to think outside of the box with this team. If we're going to be careless with the ball, brick-it from 3, and refuse to shoot open mid-range jumpers, then the hell with it let's smash that tempo button, press and fastbreak on every missed shot and try to get 80 possessions a game and as many layup attempts as possible.
The zone is for wimps and Jim Boeheim deserves to burn in hell.
Lazy is a good word for it, they looked clueless at times. When they were hustling, I saw plenty of times they over helped. Do that, dudes are just having shoot around. It's freaking January 20th and they don't still don't know how to play together. Also, still the same ****. Turnovers and missed free throws, you aren't winning doing that. Maybe one of these days these guys will get ball security and fundamentals are important. It can win you games and can sure as hell lose them for you. They drive me nuts doing stupid **** so I didn't read pages 2 or 3. If there was anything noteworthy, my apologies.

The Buffaloes have lost three in a row for the first time this season and four of six games overall. Colorado fell at home for just the second time this season (8-2), seeing a six-game home winning streak end at the hand of the Huskies.
Colorado dropped back-to-back games on the L.A. road swing last week. It was a rare road sweep against the Buffaloes. Colorado had gone eight-straight multi-game Pac-12 road trips with at least one win. The Buffaloes left L.A. without a win on the standard two-game road trip for just the second time in the Pac-12 era and first since 2015-16.
Colorado leads the Pac-12 in offensive rebounds (11.9 orpg) while ranking second in steals (8.3 spg) and rebounding margin (+5.4), third in scoring (73.0 ppg) and rebounding (38.7 rpg), fourth in turnover margin (+0.2) and defensive boards (26.9 drpg) and fifth in scoring margin (+5.8).
Colorado had 13 steals against Washington, tying a season high (at Grambling State) and reaching double-digits for the fifth time this season, but is only 2-3 in those contests. The Buffaloes had just one instance of double-figure steals in each of the previous two seasons (2020-21 and '21-22).
Colorado forced Washington into 22 turnovers, the most by a Buffaloes' opponent since UC Irvine had 22 on Nov. 18, 2019. It's the most turnovers forced in a loss since Dec. 9, 2006, when Colorado State had 24, but defeated the Buffaloes 72-69 at the CU Events Center.
On an odd note, Colorado dropped to 1-5 this season when forcing 18-plus turnovers and 0-2 forcing 21 or more (21 by Cal). Prior to this season, the Buffaloes had won 21 of 24 games when forcing at least 18 turnovers dating back to March of 2012. Washington moved to 2-0 when committing at least 20 turnovers this season (23 vs. St. Mary's).

The Cougars are 2-5 in road games but sport a huge win at Arizona, 74-61, on Jan. 7. Washington State averages 68.7 points on 43.3 percent shooting. The Cougars are the top 3-point shooting team in the Pac-12, making 8.8 per game and 36.4 percent from downtown. Washington State allows 65.5 points per game, ranking third-best in the Pac-12.
Junior guard TJ Bamba leads Washington State in scoring at 15.1 points per game, but has missed the last three contests. This seems more than odd. Sounds like we're getting the ball and not finishing. We don't have a strong inside game.
LL needs to stop, or limit, bringing the ball down to waist level when handling it.

Leadership. There is none. No one on the team. Sure AF isn't coming from Tad.
I don't think they have come together. They are not a team. Guys haven't accepted their roles and played for each other.

The bare minimum of "how to stop a giant momentum swing" is my gold standard.
We should try it some time, could be beneficial.
We don't have the on court leadership ro "work ourselves out of bad situations".
This team must be so good when it wants to be. Spent most of the half with more turnovers than points and is only down 2
And the run has continued even after the tv timeout. That move was worthless.
