'23 DC ATH Nyckoles Harbor (Signed to South Carolina)

Very few top sprinters train at altitude. I believe it's viewed as negative training at altitude. It's a real negative factor for us.
I've seen arguments both ways. And again, if track is priority #1, I think he goes elsewhere. But there are options to further his training if he decides to come. More than anything, I believe in Deion. He understands the demands on multi-sport athletes and will be creative in helping Harbor reach his goals. And having Bloom as an ally and access to the Olympic Training Center would only further that cause. It's a huge longshot, but everything that's happened the last 2 months has been a huge longshot.

Agreed. And I would guess his goal isn't to compete in the Olympics. If he and his family are smart they're thinking there are two can't miss paths here:
1) Play CFB football, get that degree, play NFL ball, make that money
2) Play CFB, get that degree, go to Med school, get that money

T&F is a nice to have, not a real part of the plan if we're being honest.
Pretty sure it's been said that he does have Olympic dreams

I think he's probably looking for a mentor that can guide him through playing two sports at an elite level at once. Some lucky coach/team is going to score here. I wish him luck in his journey.

Gotcha. In that case, Florida and the Texas schools would be the play if we're being honest.
Maybe a couple of the west coast schools. His list of favorites doesn't seem to align perfectly with his stated interests, so it will be fun to watch this play out.

He will need to reconcile the weight he'll need to carry to be successful as a FB player, vs being a world class sprinter. Not sure if that means he plays TE in college, or what, but if he has desires to play FB at a high level, I can see T&F being an endeavor where he wants to continue to get high level training, and then pursue his olympic dreams after College

Unfortunately it doesn't. The Training Center in Springs doesn't even have Track and Field training facility. That's in the other Training Center in Chula Vista.

So ya I agree with you that if Track and Field is part of his dream, he is not coming here.

I mean, there's clearly smoke here, why Nyck decided to post that and his father denied it is anyone's guess but too much smoke for there to be nothing. Maybe he is just genuinely trolling but would be strange.
I will suddenly become very optimistiv if CU can somehow convince him to go to CU instead of Oregon this weekend. Doubt that happens

I'm just still so wildly impressed that we are even mentioned in the same sentences with athletes like this these days.

Quantum leap?
Sea Change?
Paradigm Shift?
Transmogrification?
Metamorphosis?
Radical/Revolutionary change?
Transfiguration?

I think it's been noted before, but Oregon doesn't really produce Olympic sprinters. American (and Caribbean) Olympic sprinters generally come from SEC schools, along with some other Southern and CA schools.

Obviously Oregon has an advantage over us if someone has T&F goals beyond distance events, but all things considered, I'd say that if Oregon is his top school, it's not really because of T&F.

This. Exactly my thoughts. Oregon has a great tradition of middle-distance domination (Pre still sets the standard for inspiration), but less so in the sprinting realm.

Point is, if he's serious about track, this is going to be tough to contend with. There is no way CU's T&F athletes only train in the IPF

Potts may not be great, but I believe they’ve upgraded it and CU does host meets there. And the IPF is a fantastic indoor track. He’s a sprinter so other than the 200 and relays, he won’t be running the turns that much. And the IPF is a 300 meter track.

upping his market value with a tweet about CU... if that is the worse thing that happens to us in the Prime Era, we are ****ing awesome.
Frankly, it’s crazy that tweeting about CU can raise anyone’s profile. Who could have ever imagined that would be something possible even a year ago?

But can he run with both feet?

Yep. Because he wants to go to medical school and Oregon has a great…..err…..never mind.

Better be careful DBT, or you’ll get told how to use multi quote.

I know how. Just too lazy.

DBT - learn how to use the ****ing multi-quote. Jeebus.
