UT: Better odds now?

Since the UT-Arkansas game has been rescheduled due to IKE, it may make our gameday odds better since they will have less time to prepare for us.

"The game, which was scheduled for Saturday afternoon in Austin, will be played Sept. 27... And it would also make for a tough stretch for the Longhorns, who start the Big 12 schedule the following week. Texas' Big 12 schedule begins with games at Colorado, Oklahoma in Dallas, Missouri, Oklahoma State and at Texas Tech in the first five weeks."

You've got it ass backwards. Our odds were better the longer Mack Brown had to prepare. Inevitably, he will screw up--and Vince Young won't be there to save him.

Not so much about preparation, but the fact we're sandwiched between two rivalry games may help our cause.

no doubt....nothing better than that OU game right after us for them to look forward to! I'll take all we can get, cuz boy it would be nice to fry some texas longhorn rib eyes that weekend!

Honestly, given the fact that it usually takes us a half to wake up after an off week I think it may actually do us some good to play the week before we come to CU.

Honestly, nobody is going to overlook CU from our perspective anyway, that is a testament to the changes that have been made in the past 2 years and it is very recognizable that you are once again on your way up.

They are young just like our buffs. Hell, they are supposedly even younger, just barely. This game is going to be rough as it is at the end of an intense part of our schedule. They have their distractions, but I don't know if our boys will be able to keep their focus after so many big games in a row...

But if Hawk can't get this team up (especially the seniors) for the guy that did 70 to 3 and knocked Klatt out late, then I will have some serious doubts about him. The seniors need to step up and make sure the buffs come out on fire. A loss is understandable for the buffs, but I don't think flat play is. 70 to 3 should be everywhere upcoming to this game.

they'll be up for it....it'll be a huge game against the highest rank team we've seen all year....plus they'll be coming home from a long Florida trip and it's a homecoming game (for whatever that's worth)....depending upon how we do these next 2 games they could be even more pumped up than ever!

When was the last time UT played Arkansas? A lot of the players on both sides of the ball were toddlers when Arkansas left the SWC. It is a rivarly game, but to none other than the boosters and alums, I'd imagine.

Texas over Arkansas in a blowout.

Yep, the exact opposite of the CU - CSU game.

Coach Mack was rumored to be pretty upset by bank-gate 08 and the subsequent loss of DS. I expect the young longhorn team to be up for this one.

Mack Brown gives and he takes away.

Following UT's 70-3 hit on CU, Barney was fired and Hawkins got the job.

No one was ever fired for beating Texas.
