WTF? Auburn 3 Miss St 2...

Yeah #9 team in the nation my @$$. The SEC, the SEC, I'm sick of hearing about the SEC. UGA and AU, two top 10 teams didnt show much. AND... the phuckeyes are getting schooled by SC. We need to drop the polls and just go with a playoff system. It is way overdue. BCS crap, they can make as much if not more money with a playoff system.

hahahaha i just saw it hahahahahaha what a ****ing amazing score... i dont think ive ever laughed this hard at sport...

Another thing about the SEC
UCLA beat Tennessee, then look what happened to them today...

The SEC is good, but obviously gets overhyped

SEC is still the best, but the Big 12 is knocking on the door hard.

I would say the SEC is the best defensive confrence and the Big 12 is the best offensive confrence. D wins championships so slight edge to SEC right now.

I think the big point here is that conference perception is often way off. I can only hope for a playoff in the future (I'm rooting for a 16-team bracket--how sick would that be?). That way the playoff formula really negates any preseason bias. If only the old timers at the NCAA understood.

There are never 16 teams who diserve a chance at the title. I say 8 team playoff at the most.

Agreed, 8 at the most, although 6 teams (top 2 get byes) is probably the best idea. 16 teams takes away from the importance of the regular season. A 3 loss team should never be in contention for a National title and maybe only one or two 2 loss teams should be (must have a hard schedule).

:congrats:

Nice game. Unfortunately, I am a big enough loser to watch nearly the entire second half. It was a nice baseball game... Miss St struck out with the bases loaded in the 9th. Great pitching in this game, 3-2.

Oh... wait, what? They were playing football?

with both sixteen and eight, the probability remains that all we would see is the media darlings. i do not think having a playoff, by nature, will cause the pollsters to know what they are talking about. i do not see how you would choose those 16 teams in a vacuum from the polls.

In 2001, the 15th ranked team in the country beat the #1 ranked team in the country 62-36 on the last weekend of the year. Maybe some of you remember that game.

I'd say that a 16th ranked team has a pretty decent shot in a playoff.

Yup, letting that many teams into a playoff would diminish the regular season too much. Teams would be getting in with 2 or even 3 losses. Sure, LSU got to play for the title last year with 2 losses but that is an extreme rarity.

Auburn QB play = :cry::cry::cry::cry:

The same thing that's happening at Ann Arbor is happening here. I understand that you want to change your offense to get with the times, but without the proper athletes, YOU CAN'T SUCCEED! I don't understand why these coaches think they can make the switch seamlessly. They aren't stupid. How can you not look at the failures of others trying this and learn? Keep your old O and slowly add in pieces of what you want to switch to throughout the year instead of just going whole hog.

Meanwhile, European football fans would regard this score as the equivalent of the Broncos/Chuggers game today...

True. Of course, the offense sucked last year as well.

Half the teams in this week's AP Top Ten are SEC teams. The reason there is no playoff system is because large corporations sponsor the current bowl system, and they haven't figured out how to make more money with a playoff. I don't know any football fan who is against a playoff system - as soon as they figure out the money it's a done deal.

I LOVE college football...it's the only sport I watch. I'm against the playoff system (most of the time).

All this BCS vs Playoff stuff will never be solved completely. But i say, why not have both? Seriously. Treat the six big BCS bowls as a playoff system, but keep all those old bowls around so the crappy teams still have something to shoot for, and all the fun of college bowl season is retained.

And the Pac 10 and Big 11 have to give up the Rose bowl, which they are unwilling to do.

**** them. They are both ****ty conferences with 1 legit team amongst them (USC). Let them have their annual toilet bowl matchup.

Auburn's offense couldn't get out of their own way and did their best to give the game to the Bulldogs. Too bad Croom went for a 4th & 15 with about 3:30 left when he should've punted. MSU's punter had a helluva game.

Goddamn farmers.

:yeahthat:

There''d be plenty of good teams not in the playoff so you'd definitely still want to have the bowls, otherwise the postseason would only consist of 3 or 7 games, depending on how many teams you put in. The playoff should only consist of 4 teams, 8 at the most, and keep most of the bowls around so all the other decent teams can still have their postseason party and recruiting tools.
