CU has rejoined the Big 12 and broken college football - talking out asses continues

Yep, still no where to go.

All I am distinguishing is the group that has no options with the group that may have options.
Oh well, you’re right about that. But if a few of their members are challenging for, or getting nattys in major sports why do they have to go anywhere?

wait. i am confused. you mean we ARE NOT the same level as ****ing bailer and ucf?????

i am shocked, i tell you.

also, **** the truck stop 12 and their evil ****ing selves to hell.

also, did i mention? ken starr burns in hell, ucf is a night school for hotel managers, kjuco state isn't even trying to be a university, and the minimum standard for the entire league on the sat is drool all over it.

No worries NOW. This re-alignment circus will happen again for sure in 2029 when the BIG10's GOR comes up for renewal.
Maybe by then Colorado can be a part of the conversation. Will have to probably see at least 2 or 3 PAC Championships
and 3-4 entries into the playoffs with proof that eyes love to watch Colorado on their tv sets.

Must hope that the new Big10 Comish doesn't lure Oregon and Washington sooner.
I dont want to be in a conference where there are 20 teams. Conferences tend to be dominated YoY by two teams regardless of the size. There are a lot of teams that joined the B10 that didnt care about dominating the conference. If Prime is what we hope he is and suddenly CU finds itself in the playoff more then USC finds itself even in the Big10 championship there is going to be a lot of unhappy fans. See NU. And its the fans that make NIL work. Yes, TV money rules everything. But some 5 star recruit if given the choice to play at SC or tOSU is gonna Buckeye single every time because they see tOSU is one of the two dominant teams. CU would never be better then middling lost in the crowd program in the B10

Great point and something that the “join the B1G” proponents here either don’t think about or don’t talk about.

I wouldn't.

Behind a paywall. Good thing I pay my hard-earned money for a subscription to the New York Post.
There are ways to get content. It's leaking like crazy this a.m.
ESPN $31 million deal is off the table.
ESPN and PAC aren't close.

IF Apple is involved they would want it all at possibly $30 million per school but Apple is taking their own time and won't make the 04/15/23 'deadline '

Amazon only interested in one game possibly Friday nights.

More details from the NY Post, which is Fox owned of course, and is the mouthpiece for Fox when they want to put out a rumor.

  • Only way to get to $300 million is with Apple
  • It would likely require 100% of the deal to be with Apple
  • Apple is slow so it wouldn't be by the April 15 deadline
  • The $31 million per team deal from ESPN is no longer on the table
  • If the PAC goes with ESPN, it's because they took less money in exchange for exposure
  • Right now no deal with ESPN is close
  • Amazon is still an option but they only want a game or two and they won't overpay. Maybe one Friday night game.

Let‘s game the above out.

Fox Sports is not bidding. They probably have a vested interest in seeing the PAC 12 fold, so they can pick up 2-4 more teams on the west coast on the cheap for the BIG.

ESPN can pay $300 million for all of the teams, or it can still get the west coast After Dark content with a much smaller investment by having the four corner schools join the Big 12. They seem to have a vested interest in the PAC folding.

Amazon apparently wants only a few games, which seems to be consistently reported throughout.

Apple paid $250 million for MLS and I think the PAC is more valuable, so $300 million is possible. The only leverage the PAC has now is the prospect of a league collapse. If Apple doesn’t move at a decent number, then the league folds and all the content gets split between Fox and ESPN, boxing Apple out. They could be a junior partner on Big 12 content.

Apple and Amazon could partner, but those two behemoths hate each other.

Does anyone really see Washington and Oregon signing a GOR if ALL content is behind a paywall? I don't.

Arizona president specifically said he needs to see 50/50 at worst between streaming and linear. I don't see this happening.

IF this info is correct then Clownzano was not truthful late last week.

Through the sands of the hourglass...so are the Days of our PAC.

All this is is a rehash of all of the Big XII talking points over the last two months. There’s literally nothing new there.

Yes, with some tweaks. I think it’s not unreasonable to say the trend is not great, given the lengthy timeline involved in getting a deal on the table.

You also have Fox mouthpiece joining CBS mouthpiece with similar rumoring / reporting.

Maybe, but bear in mind the MLS thing is a global distribution deal.
