22-23 Transfer Portal and General Recruiting Catch-All Thread

Notable spring loses: Traore, MLC, Sami, Tyson, Reed, Upshaw, Wylie, Aubrey Smith, Rodman

Notable spring adds: Smalls, Dawson, Gant, Mclendon, Thomas, Ward, Robinson, Cooper, Tisdale

I don’t see much of a difference…Prime has repeatedly said the starting lineup would be significantly improved via the spring portal.
They recruited over every single payer mentioned except Traore, who we’re not sure fit in that well.

Upshaw left bc he was recruited over. Sami couldn’t perform fitness wise. Reed way down the depth chart. GOT SUM DAWGS competing for those spots now.

Fixed. Bolded the only guys worth a damn. Traore was told he wouldn't play if he didn't add weight and improve his blocking. Rodman and Sami are terrible. It's like you didn't watch them play. Wylie was a decent back up.

Washington didn’t make 1st, 2nd, or 3rd team all conference…in the MAC. And had three other P5 conference offers as a transfer. He’s a decent player, but am I really supposed to be very impressed? fwiw Jake Wiley got six P5 offers in the portal.

We’ve also added another average starter from Kent State, two FCS players who had no other P5 offers as a transfers, 3 JUCOs two of whom were lightly recruited, a backup from Liberty, and redshirt 3-star recruit. Yay?

Allbuffs groupthink: clearly we’ve significantly upgraded the offensive line!

Again I think we definitely have more quality depth but I don’t think the actual starters are any better.

I’ll add to this that the two prep o-line recruits added by the new staff have just one combined P5 offer.
Washington was one of the top 70 rated tackles in the country last year.

You guys enjoy trying to change the mind of a dumbf***?

The spring “replacements” are not correct. Look who arrived before this spring to determine the true replacements.

Twitter profile says 6'6" 268lb TE. 4 years to play 3. Recent posts show his other offers are from Miami & Washington - so I guess he's either more than a 6th OL or that he projects as a high upside developmental OT.

Sounds like an OL. He didn't catch a pass for Butte and his highlights are mauling dudes through the echo of the whistle.
