Summer Pre-Season Camp

I’ve heard nothing and don’t see any threads. When do the preseason practices begin and will they be open to the press and public?

Starting to feel just a bit itchy for football. Went to Barnes & Noble to check out the preseason mags. Toilet paper is a much better investment this year imo.

Some NFL teams including the Broncos start this week and some others next week.

Pretty sure you’re correct. There’s been so little actual football news I’m beginning to get antsy.

Pac-12 Media Deal really has overshadowed college football this summer. Also overshadowed those new CFB rules:

  • Running the clock after first downs (like the NFL), except for the last two minutes of each half.
  • Banning the use of consecutive timeouts by a team.
  • Carrying over a foul to the second or fourth quarter rather than playing an untimed down.
Surely that will have an impact on what is practiced in August.

As for positions, it appears set in stone for the QB and WR positions. Would love to know who will be the guys at RB and the backup QB.

I'm starting to need my Buff (football) fix. This year is really going to be fun and interesting regardless. Adds to the anticipation.
I need Sling to hurry up and give me the “discount on service when you come back” e-mail, so I can get that PAC12 Network - Mountain Region - going.

Do we have a date yet on when the team reports for fall camp? I haven't been able to find it.

So I opened Google and a story from something called “Fanbuzz” popped up since Google knows I’m a CU fan.

The headline read, “Deion Sanders’ Controversial Practices have Kids Throwing up Constantly.”

I took the bait and clicked the story. Apparently Cormani said he’d thrown up 7 times during a practice. The story kind of walks the sensationalism back a bit by explaining that it was probably due to his adjustment to altitude.

Have any of you heard of any “controversy” over Prime’s practices? Seems more like a rag trying to get clicks. I need to be more judicious. I don’t usually take the bait.

Definitely not a thing. I haven't heard anything about it except from the videos themselves.

Plus these are player led practices, not staff led.

Clickbait

Like you say, there is no controversy about Prime’s practice regimen. Cormani got sick during his first practice after getting to Boulder, most likely due to getting acclimated with the altitude. I guess his teammates gave him the nickname, “pukey”. Sounds like it happened that first time and hadn’t happened again since. But as always, the nicknames stick!!

No. But Florida State was pretty notorious for basically running kids til dead

The level of intensity and work increases dramatically from high school to college. The competition also pushes you into a different place on the level of pressure you feel. Take that with an adjustment to altitude and probably a different diet and it's not surprising he had a day when his body didn't react well. With players not having coaches and staffs not fully monitoring workouts this time of year, I can easily see this happening with throwing up multiple times. But no professional in athletic training would recommend throwing up multiple times during workouts, so someone should have a sit down with him and address the team on the subject.

Add to the fact he was late. Everyone else been in conditioning for weeks and he came late. Not for any fault of his own. School ended late where he went to school at

Every team I was on after middle school had someone puking in early conditioning. Non-story.

With the NFL teams kicking off summer camp today, I'm ready for on the field talk not off the field talk (ignore thread is a good tool).

I'm looking forward to the battle for playing time at the RB and WR position during camp.

I'm hoping for an offense that is in sync and moving fast which would be a big welcome change from last season.

And lastly, has Ralphie VI grown to full size yet?

The puking thing is overblown. I was a sprinter in college and threw up after nearly every 400m and 400 m hurdle race I ever did. It happened in practice all the time too. The kids are probably pushing themselves. They’re competitive. It happens and they’ll be just fine.
