The Detmers

I thought I'd share a cool video I found on Koy and his brother Ty. It's from PrepTicket.com.

96, cu should have been 11-0 and playing in the big 12 championship vs texas.

That michigan game was frustrating, kidd gets a long td called back(bogus)should have won that game.

Then nebraska game,2 wide open td's dropped by anderson, another long one by kidd.Buffs lose 17-12 in a rainy crappy grey dday.

Koy was awesome,we had a great run of qb's with Sal,hagan, kordell and koy and hessler wasn't too bad either.

Uggh. Chris Anderson. A name that I'd like to forget. I remember they were calling him the next Westbrook. Riiiigggggghhhhht.

I remember when CA dropped those TD's vs. NU. Later on he'd catch a 5 yard pass for a 1st, he'd do his little first down pose. :bang:

And Hessler was good until Neu completely ruined him. I remember Slick screaming at the kid on the sidelines on National TV. Ruined him. John never got the confidence back that he previously had imo.

That's certainly what it looked like, but not at all what happened.

I'm sure there was more going on behind the scene. I just thought that Rick doing that to his starting QB was really, really bad judgement. jmo.

As much as I hate slick,he did a real class thing by inviting hessler to a game and had him and some other buffs on the field.

I'm not trying to say he's a total prick. The times I met him(I was in HS at the time), he was a very cool person. I just think he got in over his head here at CU. I do think he's a good coach. I think he's learned from those mistakes.

I wasn't saying you thought he was a total prick, quit being such a freegin nancy:smile2:

Seriously,he can recruit but his lack of being able to grasp the running game, mediocre defense will show soon enough.

59-0 TO BYU?

Neuheisel and Hessler had a very close relationship.

When Washington came to CU back in 2000, John Hessler was waiting outside the visitors locker room after the game just to see Neuheisel.

The "image" of Neuheisel ripping Hessler on the sideline during the 1997 Michigan game has been repudiated by both Hessler and Neuheisel. While it certainly looked bad, and inspired a good deal of bad press and bad feelings among fans, both Hessler and Neuheisel have said that there wasn't any yelling or criticism in Neuheisel's actions on the sideline that day.

Neuheisel is and was a lot of things, but his QB's have generally really liked him.

It wasn't just the Michigan game. I have a real hard time believing your line about how there was no yelling or criticism. I'm certainly no expert, but I do know what that was. Neu was on him hard.

I know both these guys are good guys. They are going to play things down in the media. That was the right thing to do. But that doesn't mean it didn't have any affect on the way John played. He was two completely different QB's during his career at CU. He always seemed to second guess himself to me. Which really killed his play.

Hessler for Heisman, right AVBuff???

There was clearly a false start by our TE (Lepsis?) on that play. It was the 4th and 1 call, right?

Anyway - I recall seeing the TE move and I knew immediately it was coming back.....

NO,it was bogus you blind freaking bat. A buckeye fan siding with a wolverine ref?

Woody would be rolling in his grave right about now.

CU got cheated and that's the bottom line cause stone cold syko said so...sorry,that was ghey:lol:

You're still an ohio hick, with a baby sized.....:smile2:

That Michigan game drove me insane. We had 20 penalties that day, and about 6 of them were on that one drive with the called back TD to Kidd. And we missed an extra point, and Che Foster got a gift TD from the CU hating refs, and Rae Carruth dropped his chance to repeat Hail Westbrook. That game made me physically ill for a month.

But not as ill as that Nebraska game. Didn't anderson get called for a dubious offensive pass interference penalty late in the game?

And then Chris Ogard tips a ball at the line of scrimage from 6 yards away and the kNU linebacker runs it back for a score the other way. Otherwise it would have been 15-10 at least with a field goal from that end with about 1/2 the 4th quarter to go. That game makes me sick still.
