the 70-3 thing still pisses me off. they poured it on unecessarily. and i really didn't like the vicious late hit on klatt well after the game was decided.

the scott recruiting whining still pisses me off. these arseholes couldn't accept that a player decided to pick another school. they had to suggest that we did something wrong.

and, i generally hate the shorthorns. all hat and no cattle. this might be the year that i go over to that damned neighbor's house and light that damned ut flag on fire in the middle of his street. he keeps it up whenever they win in front of his house.

the odds are pretty stacked against our Buffs. but, i will admit it. i really, really want the upset here.

KICK THEIR DAMNED ARSES!

GO BUFFS!

I agree with a lot of your post, but we were lucky they didn't hang 100 on us in that game. They really didn't "pour it on unnecessarily."

I met this cute little old couple in Subway today, wearing all Texas stuff. So I idiotically asked them, "You from Austin?" Turns out they were. I then asked them if they were enjoying Boulder, etc... The wife was really the nice, but the guy was a grumpy old fart. But he did tell me that he has been to every big 12 stadium to see the horns play, except for CU. He said he came because he, "might as well ..." It was a hint of arrogance I can't explain. He came across as a pissed off dude who was mad that "Father Time" had it out for him. But his wife did make me laugh by telling me that UT and Cu had something in common... We have the "cutest" quarterbacks in the big 12. After thinking about it, with the likes of Chase Daniel and Sam "Proactiv Solution" Bradford, I guess I can't argue

But long story short, the pissed off old man made me really fired up for the game... I hope we win!

Why didn't you throw piss bombs at them?

Good omen?

Last year Oklahoma had not traveled outside the state of Oklahoma and dominated the weak competetion before coming to Boulder.

This year Texas has not traveled outside the state of Texas and has dominated the weak competetion.

Well there's certainly similarities, but I think because of those similarities Texas is going to make sure not to overlook us.

70-3 doesn't piss me off. The 2005 mNC team lead by Vince Young was special. UT's Colt is off to a great start with an 80% completion rate. There is a reason the Longhorn football team is a 13 point favorite.

What pisses me off was the complete absence of hospitality experienced in Austin in 2005 and 2001. That fanbase hasn't evolved beyond thoughts of "mudholing" their opponent and patting themselves on the back as pre-ordained champions at the epicenter of the B12. They are sore losers and ungracious in victory.

Exactly how many 'neutral' B12 championship games have been played in Houston or San Antonio or Dallas? Every single time the South hosts the CCG, it is within a short drive of UT. How many times has the B12 CCG been within 500 miles of Boulder? Zero. Zip. Nada.

When CU won the 2001 contest at Texas Stadium, the curtain came down really quickly after the trophy presentation. CU fans were ushered out, unable to gather at the front row of the bleacher to share a fight song with the team. I guarantee UT fans would have been given more time to celebrate a Longhorn victory, had they won. Then out in the parking lot, there was suspended disbelief that UT actually lost. No UT fan will ever admit UT lost that game. It was all about UT self destructing because Applewhite didn't come in early enough. Everyone forgets that CU played that game with our second string QB, and out played the Longhorns.

UT believes in "mudholing" their visiting teams, and begrudges their visiting fans for even daring to show up. There is no welcome mat in Austin. UT fans could learn a lot from Baylor and Texas Tech fans, who are welcoming to Colorado visitors. Some fan bases like to talk a little football over a cold beer and a brat before the match-up, and offer up a "good game" at the conclusion. But not at UT. That fan base is obsessed with 52-10 or 70-3. The visitors are treated with as much disregard as the 13th french fry in a McDonald value meal to be passively munched and forgotten about in anticipation of the next bite.

UT hates losing at home so much that they puss out and play OU in the Cotton Bowl, and pad their OCC schedule with only the tastiest of cupcakes. They'd NEVER allow a neutral CCG at invesco.

UT fans, welcome to Boulder, because as you already know, all CU has is "snow boards for sale."

agree with Monk. last year OU really didnt play very well on the road, even though the Tulsa game was in Oklahoma, it was the team's 1st game away from Owen Field and it showed there in a very ugly win. also realize that it was Sam Bradford, a freshman qb 1st game outside of Oklahoma, thats not the case with Colt McCoy and Texas. Factor in the fact that Colt is taking up where he left off his freshman year in his play this year, and has played through a year of adversity, he wont be making the mistakes Bradford did last year in the CU game.

just my opinion, but i think Bradford and McCoy are the 2 best QBs in the Big XII right now, with Daniels of Mizzou right there with them. plus Colt has 2 wideouts in Shipley and Crosby that always find a way to be open as the texas ol gives colt plenty of time to find them.

for Colorado to win this game, Texas will need to make a few mistakes in special teams play, and Colt will have to go back to playing like he did last year. Maybe the 1st will happen but not the latter.

I don't think so at all. That game was a PlayStation game where they could've gone well into the triple digits if they really were "pouring it on".

Biggest difference between last year's OU game and this year's UT game is at quarterback.

Last year OU was playing a redshirt freshman quarterback who got pretty rattled on the road. This year UT is playing a junior quarterback who has played in plenty of road games.

You are dillusional. Either you have never been to Austin...or you were a drunk idiot who was treated appropriately. Most if not all schools who travel to Austin talk about how nice they are treated and the hospitality that they are given during their stay there. I have repeatedly invited people from all schools including CU to our tailgate in Austin so that they would have a place to go prior to the game.

It is also obvious that you have no clue about the RRS (Now called RRR) with OU. This has been a neutral site game longer than you have been alive and we actually have a winning record in that series (although it is pretty lopsided in favor of OU in the past several years).

Also, we played a home and home with Ohio State just a few years ago...hardly a cupcake.

WTF is the RRR? Red River Rematch? Was shootout no longer politically correct?

40 points would have gotten them to the National Championship game, 70 points coupled with laughing at us from the sideline (rightfully so) is pouring it on. No excuses though...we got our butts handed to us.

i'll vouch for Ed here. RRSO (RRR) is a tad different situation and there is respect and trash talking both walking around the fair and especially if you sit at the 50 yard line. Only time I have been to Austin for a game was the CU game in 2005 and except for a few people (2 different guys) in the stands we were treated very nice. I think even Ed invited us by the tailgate he would be at...

They could have named the score. We quit, so to complain about the other team playing until the final whistle is a bit sad.

As far as the whole Klatt situation. Yeah, that sucked, but go ahead and blame Barney for that one because Klatt was still in a 56-3 game.

That game was an ***kicking of monumental proportions.

JK was in the game because he was the only QB to ever get practice reps in Shawn Watson's 17 volume overly complicated, low-gravity physics required prerequisite, offense. The other QB's looked completely lost when their fleeting glimpses of the field came.

I have heard rumors about some players perhaps not going full speed during that game, but never had any real proof. GB had lost the team by and large by that time, and that is sad, because I was a GB supporter, and I know a lot of people dislike him and they have their reasons....

Win or lose, this game isn't going to be 70-3. This is a much different team than the one VY shredded three years ago.

Not to go against a fellow CU fan(sorry Skiddy), but I'll have to side with Ed here as well. I went to Austin in 2001 and 2005, and was treated pretty well. Other than the outcome of both games, I had no complaints.

My grandma was pushed down the stairs in austin, then they dumped beer on her face, then they ripped her left leg off. When my grandfather went to protect her they punched him in the face and spit on him...Oh sorry, i forgot that was a bull**** story one of the cornholers gave after last year.

I've never been to austin for a game, but i've heard for the most part everyone is treated well.

I hope you guys win too! So ESPN will stop their verbal bukkake of Texas and McCoy.

I want to piss off abc again, they love when the RRR has 2 teams in the top 10. They had to change their plug last year, when ou went down in boulder
