Official Buffs vs. Oregon Score Prediction Thread

Every week, I've predicted doom. Every week, Doom has been blocked by one miracle or another. That ends this week.
In week one, TCU decided that covering Dylan Edwards was optional and then chose to not run the ball despite averaging a first down every 1.3 runs or something like that. In week two, Nebraska started the guy whose best skill was finding creative ways to turn the ball over. If they just would had that QB go out wide and direct snapped it to their RB they would have ground CU into paste while giving their defense enough rest to pound Shedeur until he started missing throws. That game was, at best for CU, a dog fight without all those gifts from that nebraska QB (they should start him next year too).
Now, last week against CSU? A damn miracle was required. You could feel the doom building all week. The storm approached. With every confident, bombastic prediction of domination the sickness in my stomach grew. A trap awaited. No ranked team had ever won in the CSU v. CU history going back over 100 years. It was a certainty. Doom would snap shut and make CU a laughingstock once again. But then, out of the jaws of certain doom victory was snatched by my disciple, @absinthe, who pulled a legendary reverse jinx right before Shedeur led a 98 yard drive and 2 point conversion to tie the game. We had our miracle. But that was the end.
My powers wain. Our bright shining star, Travis Hunter, is sidelined. Our offensive line is down multiple projected starters. Our DBs are banged up. Our opponent is talented where we are weak. Sean Lewis is out of tricks. Our defense has been exposed. The spotlight has shined as bright as the sun on Icarus over our Buffs the last three weeks, and like that poor soul, we must pay the price.
This is the game where the magic ends. The game where the limits of Prime in year one become obvious and painful.

Only a coward afraid of true doom would predict an Oregon blowout. You and I both know the psychological gift of low expectations.
No…. True doom is Buffs coming out electric, staying in the game, and pulling us from the dregs of pregame despair. “This time it’ll be different”, we exclaim at halftime. We can feel that familiar enemy, cautious optimism, creep into our hearts as the victory remains just one or two plays away from our grasp through the 3rd.
It is only half way through the fourth, on a yet unknown, but guaranteed chain of events where hope is snuffed from our hearts and the cries of thousands are silenced at once. It will leave us with years of “what ifs” and frustrations to cope with

Heartbreak prediction is a reasonable interpretation of the Book of Doom. I dub thee 2d acolyte in the church of Doom. However, little padawan, you have much to learn.
Sometimes Doom is Swift and Sure. Usually such instances occur after a series of fortunate events holding back Doom that should have previously occurred. 62-36 is perhaps the ultimate example of this phenomenon. Heartbreak can happen in either scenario, but do not further sully my character in this matter. What you mistake for cowardice is instead the result of a clearer understanding of the Truth of Doom.

I am not sold on whoregon.
The only real team they played was TT and needed (20 pt 4th qtr) 10 points in the last 2 minutes to win the game and TT turned the ball over 4 times.
That being said, I am not sure either team can stop the other (If our O starts clicking right away).
The team with the ball the ball at the end of the game, might be the one that wins.

I didn’t look it up but I’m certain we beat them as a ranked team several times between ‘89 and ‘98. I think we were ranked in 1989 coming off the opening blowout of Texas in Boulder. We had to have been ranked in 1992 when Kordell blew them out in Boulder. Same for 1995 in Fort Collins.
Look it up cause I want to know if I can trust Rece Davis.
There were several other years that we were ranked and beat them. 1995 was in Boulder, we were ranked. 1996 was in Ft Fun, and I believe we were ranked. 1997, I am pretty sure we were ranked when we beat them. 2001, 2002, 2003?
Unranked in 2001 (thank you Craig Ochs). lost in 2002, were not ranked in 2003.
Whenever you have THAT GUY at QB, you always have a shot. This game will come to the last possession. 38-35 Ducks.
forgot to mention. This is the first game where CU doesn't have the clear cut best QB. Both are good. The Shedeur advantage is minimized.

Looks like the lambs have never beat CU when the lambs are ranked. record is 0-3
CU is now 6-3 when we are ranked and they are not.

Ranked 9th in 1989, 12th in 1992; 10th in 1995; 5th in 1996 and 8th in 1997. All big margins with the low being 10 points in 1997.
