Team MVP's

Who do you guys think are the Offensive and Defensive MVP's so far this season.

Offensive: I really have no idea. Probably Josh Smith. He has a TD a game I believe minus Tejas
Denvensive: Cha'pelle Brown. This kid can tackle and has 2 INT's. He really shored up what I thought would be the team weakness.

Offense: Speedy or Girthy

Defense: Rabid Goldfish or Nicholas

Offense: meh, I can't really think of one. Stewart hasn't even scored yet. I have a hard time picking an offensive lineman as the O-line has been very mediocre so far. J-Fly has been too streaky. McKnight, maybe? PWill has been a pleasant surprise thus far as well. He's catching everything thrown his way.

Defense: Cha'pelle in a landslide. The dude is everywhere. He makes plays. Mohler would be 2nd.

Defensively I have to say Cha'pelle as well. Nicholas and the goldfish get honorable mention. Walters is extremely valuable as well...

Offensively, I am torn between Kai Maiava and Matt Ballenger. I'll have to think about that one...

Nobody has distinguished themselves yet.Speedy and c.brown have been the best on both sides to this point.

This reminds me of our last USC game, the offensive MVP should be the punter. He has bailed the O out several times in the past 2 weeks.

Offense: Speedy

Defense: Walters &/or Jeff Smart-- Tackling machines

(and sorry, but to argue against Chap Brown... He has so many tackles because they throw to his open receiver most of the time)

He also has what, three picks? Plus a dropped pick-six against WVA?

Sorry to argue, but Jeff Smart? Really? The only LB worth mentioning right now is Mohler, otherwise they're mostly invisible (I consider Brad Jones more of a DE).

O: Sorry to say, but I think it is Girthy. He is the lone consistent bright spot. He has cleaned up his shotgun snap issues (it helps they take a lot less of them now) and does a solid job.

D: Chappelle

Leads the team in tackles by 7 more than Walters.

Tackles can be a very misleading stat. DJ Williams had a bunch of tackles for the Broncos last year and I don't think anyone argues that he had a good season.

Have you watched a game this year?:wow:

Girthy and Brad Jones. Jones is playing both LB and DE. They line him up at DE and he is getting good pressure on the passer and has been solid.

The fact that we are not holding up well against the run is puzzling given the experience up front. We are basically only missing Dizon from last year, so I'm not sure where the weak link is.

Marquez Herrod is putting a good pass rush on as well and Lucas is far from the dominating figure we were hoping for.
