I am over Saturday's debacle....finally.

Hawk has this thing going in the right direction. I am concerned about QB for the next few years. Ballenger needs experience now, but not as the starter. Cody will not get us to the next level.

Bohn made a great move with Hawk's contract extension.....for the fans and for recruiting. We need to continue the push with local fan support. Folsom should be sold out for every game.

Let's get the out of town alumni energized...and in to contributing cash.

Bottom line is...let's keep the faith, and keep up the support. We will see many more bumps in the road...like the last 2 weekends. But, good things are ahead.

CU is heading in the right direction, in every way.

If you can't see that, watch some Husky Football games.

Seriously...

I agree that we are moving in the right direction. We have lost some serious momentum, recruiting-wise at least (exception: Harris), but we are building a program. I look for Hawk to have this team firing on all cylinders by the end of the year.

2009 was expected to be our year (at least by me) and with all the diversity the team is facing I have to believe they'll be battle hardened.

Hawk is a great coach - we're lucky to have him. It's nice being proud of the program for the first time since BM (see pic below if you don't know who BM is).

Unfortunately 2009 is not going to be the year. Another youth and inexperience excuse along with who knows what "new" offense they'll try. 2010 at the earliest with 2011-2012 probably a good target

I think we're doing a "two steps forward one step back routine" because we don't have the right OC and DC to take us to "our year". Hawk is a good leader but he doesn't have the minions to execute. Peterson was his counterbalance at Boise but Helfrich is just his Grasshopper here at CU

Too much Zen and not enough focus at the moment. Unfortunately it's starting to show up in sloppy and unfocused play on the field.

I think they are going in the right direction. The issues is if they can reach the next level.

Every time it looks like CU is moving forward they come out flat. I'll give them a pass this year due to youth, injuries, and I was very happy with Hawk's freshman class.

I expect better effort/execution the rest of this season.

Getting 6 wins was nice when you consider what the program went through, but I will not be a content fan if all we do is win 6-8 games a year and are happy about the El Paso Bowl invitation against some 7th seed WAC team.

Good post.. Way too many people here jumped off the cliff after the Texas game.. I was pissed off they got blown out but Texas is so talented that its almost impossible for us to beat them without playing close to perfection.. Talent isn't on the Buffs side yet..

You talking about the Huskys up here? UGGHH! :wow: Now THAT'S a train wreck ....

We're going in the right direction. It would've helped if Tau and Faatagi would've hit the books, Maiava and Celestine wouldn't have been homesick crybabies, and our young LBs not thugs ... but hey, people are people, and we're all weak in some way. The PROGRAM, however, is going 100% in the right direction.

:wtf: I think you took that out of context...

Oh well, **** you too! :focus:

Just like the time he took "Good morning, Go Buffs!" out of context. In addition to a "**** you" and recommendation for a ban, 96 also neg repped me, if I remember correctly.

Okay, I made that up, but it could happen.

I don't have any problem with the extension, as Hawk's recruiting alone would warrent it in my book. He has proven to be tireless and a pretty good evaluator of talent. I'm not as sold on the staff's coaching abilities, although I'm far from being down on them. Our on field woes this year come in a big part because of the OL's injuries. Had these injuries happened in another year or two, there might have been more experienced backups to take up the slack.

Having said that, the KU and Kstate games will be pretty telling to me. Kansas, while well-coached, shouldn't out athlete us like UT and FSU. We should be competitive in that game. The Kstate game will be interesting to me because Prince & co have out coached Hawk's staff the last two years. If Hawk is what I think and hope he is, his staff has figured out some adjustments over the summer. If this Kstate squad comes into Boulder and wins, there are more problems than just injuries to the OL.

I'm pretty sure 96 was referring to the part of the post where you say, "If you don't know who DM is look below.." or whatever...well I don't know who DM is. I looked below and saw a picture of Bill McCartney.

87, thanks for pointing that out. I didn't even catch the typo reading it the second time.

You live in Iowa. They had a DM coaching there for many years. I can see how that could get hammered into your brain. Easy mistake for an Iowan to make that we had some fun with. Now go back to your regualy scheduled walking around.:smile2:
