Other Games 10/17 - 10/21

Meanwhile, Minnesota players running over to the sideline to grab a pig tropy, Pride of Rosedale or whatever it's called. Goota love college football

That Iowa call was absolutely the worst call I've seen all year.

You have to wonder what possessed that ref to make that call at that time.

I'm not saying that the ref was monetarily motivated, but I am saying that I wouldn't be surprised.

It's could be bad coaching but it's a right call. You can't make waving signal if you don't want to call fair catch.

It was correct by the letter of the law.
And as much as it would have made a great ending to the game the rule makes sense.

You teach punt coverage guys that if they see a returner waving they back off and avoid any form of contact. If it isn't that way then you have too big a chance of somebody getting lit up and seriously hurt.

I got the impressions the Zoomies were not trying to run it up on the Middies.
I got the impression that for much of the game the Middies had the Air Force offense figured out. Falcons would have liked to have more points on the board but couldn't string together drives.

Would agree that once they got the second TD they didn't want to run it up and just wanted to burn clock.

These programs know each other so well they might as well be in each others meeting rooms, it's one of the things that keeps the games interesting even when one team is much better than the other like Air Force is this year. They also have a respect for each other that is unique in college football

AFA didn't look good-but I'd chalk that up to the questions around who was starting at QB. I was down there last week-and the people around me thought he'd be out today and against CSU.

Their schedule's been easy as hell, but they're 7-0 with 6 double digit wins.

Watching Duke-FSU. What happened with Casey Roddick here? He's starting for a team that would likely be in the playoff if the season ended today. Did this staff tell him to leave?

I can't remember.

Iowa's QB gave me major Shrout vibes.

Speaking of Iowa, I heard a state on the CGD podcast that Iowa has won 5 games so far where they've been outgained.

Michigan putting a beat down on MSU.
MSU, the big time football program with deep pockets? The program that nabbed a sitting P5 head coach with elite recruiting prowess? The team that was going to go to the playoffs with all their talent and HC from SEC country with Georgia DC experience? The one that is definitely a top 15 program and should be contending for playoffs annually bc they’re big time? The team that scoffed at lowly Colorado and the P12 because they’re such a powerhouse almost on par with Bama?

That MSU?

Yup, that's the one.
