To think this team should be peak performing is pure stupidity...

Colorado has lost at least 13 scholarship players to injury/suspension/leaving the team for the entire year...that is half of an entire class!! Not to mention the enormous number of other injuries and and suspensions that this team is dealing with. Colorado is literally playing its schedule with FCS scholarship numbers! This is NOT normal, and NOT something that all teams deal with!

To go along with this, Colorado has the 3rd YOUNGEST team in FBS!! Again, this is NOT normal, and NOT something that all teams are dealing with. Oh and they are playing a murderous schedule. And don't even get me started on the o-line. Yet people around here expect perfection. I've got news for you, if you think these factors don't matter, then you are simply irrational or willfully ignorant. Simply put, Colorado is facing the perfect storm.

Do I hate losing like the rest of you? You bet your ****ing ass I do!!! I know you are frustrated and getting impatient. But I also realize the margin between winning and losing is now razor thin, and Colorado has been hamstrung by that razor.

Look, I don't know what the future holds. I do think Hawk has us on the right track. I do think Cody can lead our team. I do think we have a good coaching staff. I will hold them accountable, but right now I think the most important thing to do is show our support, because this season isn't over, and these kids are playing their hearts out. Ok I will get off of my soapbox now. Go Buffs!

I agree about the injuries. If we are healthy we win today and probably against FSU. However, I was dissapointed with our D's effort today. That QB playing WR was a gimp out there, yet KU kept going to him and we still could't stop it. That pissed me off. We are nowhere near what this team is capable of and if we can stay injury free next year, look out!

Perfection? All I expect is what Hawk talks about all the time: steady progress. This team is NOT getting better. The injuries may seem disproportionate but stepping up and and taking an injured teammate's place is part of football. Everyone goes through it. If the coaching staff can't find a way to put a competitive product on the field with the players they have then they need to be in a different line of work. When I write 'competitive' I don't just mean keeping the score close against superior opponents. I mean showing fight, hitting your opponent in the mouth (regardless if they're Texas or the New England Patriots) and not backing down. This team and this coaching staff look lost and confused out there. We're supposed to give them a mulligan because they've got injuries and a bunch of young players? This ain't soccer or volleyball (all due respect). It's football. This is a warrior's game.

You are one scary dude. How did you manage to read my mind?

I think we would be seeing some progress or at the very least fewer steps backward if he had even 1 or 2 of the scholarship athletes that we've lost. If you put MTM and/or Miller back in the game for example, that gives Cody that much more time to read, that much more time for receivers to get open, or open up our running game. I think we can all agree that one play can make a huge difference in swinging the outcome of a game and having one or two of our injured impact players back could swing that momentum-shifting play in our direction.

I'm just as unhappy about our team's recent performance as the rest of you (maybe even more so because of the time and effort I put into supporting them) but try to put things into perspective a little bit. We're still a very young team and we're still missing a lot of pieces of the puzzle. Rome wasn't built in a day (or even a few years) and as much as it pains me to know that I probably won't be around to see it as a student or band member, I know that we will be a football power again soon.

I said this on another thread but I feel the lack of seniors to lead is really hurting the offense. We desperately need senior leadership at this point. The maturity they could bring to the team would be a huge boost
