2024 Transfer Portal News - Please Respect My Decision

Between the transfer portal and 12 team playoff, I think the talent dispersion is going to be pretty wide, leading to more consistent parity than we've probably seen in college football.
I'm hopeful for that, but still have reservations.

Worried that it's going to be B1G/SEC taking 9 or 10 playoff spots every year.

At large teams from XII/ACC winning playoff games needs to happen.

I don't think we'll see parity in the form of Indiana, Illinois, Vandy, Miss State, Iowa State, Wake Forest, BC, Kansas, etc getting elite players on a consistent basis, but the talent consolidation to basically 6-7 programs over the last decade was real.

The Tweet I posted with my original post on this was form UGA QB, Aaron Murray, pointing out all the blue chip players transferring out of Georgia right now. These aren't kids who are Juniors and Seniors who have been recruited over, they are freshman and sophomores who mostly factor in as rotational contributors and potential starters for them who are a year removed from a 4* and 5* status. It happened at Ohio State and Oklahoma as well.

I just think we are about to enter an era where kids can make money and get on the field quicker at other programs and as long as they know they are at a program that will be on TV and has a path to the playoff, it won't matter quite as much.

I'm not poisoning my threads feed with much sports stuff yet, so I'm not sure about recruiting on Threads.

Howeva, in the past 30 days Threads has had enough significant publishers, researchers and creators posting to convince me that I can abandon Twitter for science and news and get that content from Threads.

This makes me think that the death knell for recruiting Twitter will be when the racists start attacking prominent black coaches, athletes, analysts, etc.

You follow this stuff much closer than I do, but from the times I've looked, reddit typically has a very small lag (measured in seconds, maybe single digit minutes) from other sources of CFB news

They were one of the teams caught on the numerous NCAA scandals resulting is the SWC disbanding. Their problems began in 1986, the penalty came down in 1988 (year probation, 1 yr no TV, 2 year bowl ban,) then they were in hot water again in 1992 for new charges violating the probation. Administration can in and went over the top like CU. IMO, they should have been in the SWC, and should have been in the conversation for the original B12 merger, but they were only one year they were only allowed 15 schollies. Same with all the B-12 exodus of teams over the years. They are sort of like SMU, in that TCU wants Dallas. Here Baylor wants Houston.

Given all the sanctions, they fell light years behind in facilities, etc...

Although I feel like the #2 Miami 50 to #10 Houston 10 game in 1991 was the death of Houston football for decades.
