Hansen

Too bad Hawk did not recognize Hansen's talent before the season. We would be challenging for the Big 12.

I doubt the redshirt frosh. was ready to lead this team in the preseason. Of course I don't know, I don't attend practice.

Looks very impresive, as of right now I'm not dissapointed in burning the RS

Agreed, I was originally against burning his RS at this point of the season, but at this point I can't complain. But then again, it's only one half that we've seen him, so let's not get ahead of ourselves here.

I'd sit him for the second half. The team has a lead and some swagger right now. If I'm the coach, I'd want to let him soak in the rest of the game........get him in the film room and a lot more reps during practice and then start him next week.

Hansen looked good, and showed what a QB with different skills can do to take a little pressure off the line. Made some rookie mistakes you'd expect, but when they can open up the playbook with him, I think he'll be the real deal.

That said, Cody had a couple of really bad throws, but did alright for himself tonight too. I don't think he'll even be sharing time with Hansen by the end of the season though.

It was also K-State, so there is that. I liked what I saw though.

Honest question: Were we running a quarterback option? Or did we see a little shade of B-Jacks? Had some very impressive throws though, notably the TD to Scotty and the 3rd down needle-threader to Behrens.

I myself am still pissed they burned his RS

Win the rest of our games, and it will be worth it....

Not pissed at all. Who is going to be the QB next year? Do you want a total greenhorn?

It was definitely worth burning his red shirt. The kid had KState reeling for a while when he was tucking it under and running. After a while, they figured him out a bit. He also throws a nice ball.

One thing that really pissed me off were the students booing Cody when he came in for Hansen.

Yeah, uncalled for but if I remember correctly that was right before Cody got a ball batted down.

If you are talking about the group in the student section that did the thumbs down gesture, I don't think that was directed at Cody at all.

I just heard the booing. It was clearly from a minority of them. But you could hear it nonetheless.

Now if we can just figure out how to call some plays with him in there instead of the same god damn play 90 percent of the time.

No ****. We gots ta open things up. I think he's a little limited right now as far as his knowledge of the offense.

He has been the scout team QB all year, so he does not have a large part of the O down yet. This is what we saw after one week, it will be even better after three or four weeks (I won't count next week against MU).

We may have a Qb rotation, because Cody can check his ego and will do that, but imagine that hansen is the guy next year.

The D stepped up and really kept us in the game and really contained Freeman unlike I though they would. Really good job by the D.

He ran a plan he's never even practiced, and how did that play end up? Touchdown.

Let this guy loose! That belly option just got too predictable.

Helfrich's playbook

1: ) Hand it off to Speedy inside
2: ) Have Hansen run it
3: ) If Cody is in, have him throw it at the D-Line, only for it to be batted down.
4: ) Throw it in the backfield 4 yards short of the line of scrimmage.
5: ) Panic.

I don't mean to sound cynical, and I know I'm a bit irrational right now. But tonight just frustrated me.

I know a win is a win, but we can't keep doing this 14 points a game crap. Let alone the only points we scored were in the first half.

Good win tonight guys, got Mizzou next week.

Up until tonight, #9 is DJ Dykes. Seeing that number on both sides of the ball messes with my head.
