Don't Jump Yet - Saggies Bring Hope

No need to jump yet after the drubbing in Colombia last weekend...if there was ever a better matchup and team to get the ball rolling against look no further than the A&M Saggies. Here's 10 reasons to keep your sanity for the week:

1. The A&M Defense statistically is worse (check that worse) than K-State.

2. Their weekest link being on the D-Line where they have managed to give up a leagues worst 203 rushing yards per game and 20 touchdowns on the ground.

3. They are 2nd to last in the big 12 in sacks @ 11 total on the season. Yes, the Buffs have generated more sacks. When you compare to Texas' 37 sacks, FSU's 22 or Mizzou's 20 our O-Line just might provide some time to pass and some holes to run through.

4. A&M is also dead last in the Big 12 in Sacks allowed at 22 sacks given up. The only other team we've played this year that has given up close to this many sacks is the CSU Rams and if you remember week 1 our DL looked dominant.

5. The A&M offense is also the worst rushing offense in the league averaging 112 yards per game and only 902 yds on the year. Which somehow is actually worse than our beloved Buffs.

6. A&M's biggest defensive problem is a rushing QB. Josh freeman ran for 4 TD's, Zach Robinson ran for 2. (Didn't the Buffs just find one of those QB's??)

7. A 1 demensional offense even can succeed. Take Army who only passed the ball 1 time the entire game. Rushed for 280 yards, their QB accumulating 128 of them and barely lost.

8. Jarrod Johnson is not Chase Daniels. He doesn't have the arm & he definately doesn't have the feet. The scramble threat is not there.

9. Can the Buffs play mad similarly to Mizzou last weekend??? I'll take the gamble that we can and we will! We at least have something to play for!

10. We are 4-4 with a good shot at a bowl game. If there's a time to jump off the cliff it would be if we lose this weekend. Otherwise KEEP THE FAITH & GO BUFFS!

Sounds like the perfect recipe for CU to line up, drive block, and pound the ball into the endzone with Speedy, DS, and Hansen.

while Kyle is a tough place to play (though less so in the last half decade)....and i say this in a highly qualified manner....maybe being on the road this week isn't such a bad thing for the team as far as having a focus on not mailing it in for the season--no distractions. they could (still mail it in), but i don't think so.

I'm constantly optimistic about our beloved Buffs and so I know I'm partial, but I can't help it... every game I think to myself "this is going to be the game that the Buffs turn it around." I realize that some of that optimism against some better teams (thinking we could pull the upset against UT & thinking that we'd hang in there against Mizzou come to mind) was probably misplaced but against this Aggie team, I really think that we're going to get a decisive win.

I think the Buffs are embarrassed and are ready to get out there and show people that we can still win ball games. I really like Rraalph 3000's analysis and I'm feeling pretty good about this game. I'm just really looking forward to seeing (or rather, reading about it afterward... I'd listen to the game but I'm going Elk hunting this weekend) the Buffs turn it around this weekend.

I agree that if we can keep it on the ground and rack up 250+ yds of rushing that we'll take care of business in College Station. Hoping that this gives our depleted O-Line some much needed confidence to get out there and hit people in the mouth.

I felt the same way about KSU. Maybe we win another low scoring affair. The problem with the defensive stats is,ksu's were awful too and cu couldn't run the ball on k-state. Both k-state and a&m have awful pass defense but that plays out of our hands because our OL can't sustain blocks, are te's are either helping out blocking or non existent in the passing game. Our passing game needs to take advantage of these teams with weak pass defense.

The key in this game IMHO is the defense must give a k-state performance.

We need to force 3 TO's and turn them into points.

Our offense must hit some passes early to give the running game a chance.

Good thing is, we will not be able to watch it on TV. I will be "watching" the game on ESPN.com. It is much less painful, somehow, watching my monitor for internet updates .....

Speedy ran for 143 yards against K-State & Hansen ran for 86...I would call that running all over them...A&M has an even worse rushing defense than K-State statistically, thus my point being that we could easily have over 200+ yards again but we need to score more points off of it!

I also made a point to note that A&M is the worst pass rushing team in the Big 12 so we should be able to sustain blocks and give Hansen a shot to use his cannon. WR's catching & running good routes & getting open is the bigger if in my mind.

I definately agree with you on our Defense though, as they're going to have to play a solid game, but I don't think that's anything out of the realm of possibilities since I believe we match up with their offense very well and should get some sacks.

We'll win if we bring Ralphie. Let her trample all over the dog graveyard and take a gigantic dump on the 50-yard line. aggy players and supporters will be so distraught, we'll win going away.
