Sounds like a pretty standard red sauce pasta dish. These always have cheese added.

You're not wrong, but this is rookie thinking. Other than Mexican, which sucks, too, other ethnic offerings have a deep and well established bench to draw from. It's head and shoulders above the Denver metro version.

My Midwest cuisine has been limited to Omaha. Though my maternal grandparents were from South Dakota and probably third or so generation or German/Austrian/Irish immigrants. Never met my dad’s parents, who both passed before I was born. Though, my dad raved about his mom’s (Mexican) cooking.

Surprisingly, Omaha does have pretty decent Mexican food options, and getting better recently. The Italian steakhouse options have dwindled over the last 20-30 years, as owners have aged out. Some Omaha staples - La Casa Pizza - are still around, but I could tell you better spots for pizza and Italian food.

I tend to joke a lot about Omaha/Midwest. It’s mostly based on the unwillingness to change/progress (especially Nebraska), and my personal indifference with the flagship college football program.

You’re allowed to think about it after the WS.

Had a funny WS moment on Friday night. We went to San Antonio to see Sting and Billy Joel. It was great and what those two guys can do at 73 and 75, respectively, is amazing. Apparently Billy is a big Yankees fan and he had a roadie giving home score updates. And he would share those with the crowd, which to be fair couldn’t have cared less. Anyway, before a song he announces that it’s 3-2 Yankees in the bottom of the 9th?10th? Whatever. He finished the song and gets word that the Yankees lost 6-3. He’s like, “what? Lost on a walk off grand slam?” Pauses like 10 sec and then stares at the crowd and says, “****”. Then he crushed Piano Man for his finale.
