So now that Mizzou has won the Norte...

Can they beat any of the top three from the South?

UT has abused MU already this year.

OU beat MU like a rented mule last year, times two.

TT is rolling this year...

will MU be just another Northern sacrificial lamb?

Whoever misery ends up playing will be playing for a spot in the BCS title game, so that will provide added motivation against an upset. There have been some big upsets in the history of this game, but I don't see one happening this year.

The North went 3 - 15 vs. the South this year, so it does not bode well. However, with that being said, I think Missery could jump up and bite any of the three in the title game.

That would be horrible if Mizzou won the big 12. It would put them in the fiesta bowl and possibly knock out another team from the bcs... I want to see the big 12 represent, and would love to see two bowl games SEC v. Big 12

It's a pretty decent bet one of OU, TT, or UT will get into the title game. If TT beats OU and then loses to Mizzou, UT is currently 3rd in the BCS and might still get into the title game. That is unless the pollsters do something like they did with UF and Michigan in 2006, but who are they going to elevate over a 1 loss UT team in that situation, even if they didn't win their division? Same argument if OU goes and loses. Assuming OU wins a three-way tiebreaker if they all end up tied (which isn't certain), the only way UT gets into the game is if OU beats Tech and then both OU and Tech lose their last game (Tech at home against Baylor and OU at OSU). Then UT would have to lose to Mizzou as well. Not very likely. The only "likely" situation would be if OU beats Tech but UT stays ahead in the BCS rankings, goes to the B12 game and loses, we might not get one in. But, even in that situation, OU could likely be the 1-loss team that jumps up to the title game.

So, really, it's a question of who you want to see in the BCS game, IMO.

**** misery. I hope they get their asses torn a new hole. Again.

Great questions..

..of course from Husker fans point of view MU is
(was?) rather formidable. :sad2: They nailed us
good.

But I do wonder how the game would go if it were
played, say.. tomorrow. :smile2:

But I agree with ScotchBuff; the North has been
so weak for so long that a Mizzou win in the Big 12
title match would at least have the Texas and
Oklahoma teams recognizing that the North is here.
