When the Buffs win this Friday...

Independence. We were very well received by the bowl committee last year.

But, my guess is the opponent will not be Alabama.

which bowl will they most likely be invited to?

when we win? really? i am a buff fan but also i live in a little thing called reality. with the way this team has been playing lately i dont think we win in stincoln. Now dont get me wrong i would love nothing more then to stick it to the fuskers but they are playing much better then we are this year. i think we just have too many injuries to pull this off. but there is always a chance. thats why they play the game.

if we win, given how the conference looks and if KU loses to MU....i think 6-6 gets us a bowl. probably the bottom-feeder one in Texas. there are a lot of bowl slots.

the first 6 are locks (no order): UT, OU, MU, Tech, OSU, NU. KU at 6-6, CU at 6-6.

BCS 1, BCS 2, Cotton, Holiday, (Gator), Alamo, Insight.com, indy, texas bowl.

plenty to go around.

Well, all joking aside, that "62 36" part of your username was "reality." :wow:

What were the pre-game expectations in that 2001 game?

Anything can happen.

You know you are very right. Thanks for bring that to light. I do remember how i was feeling about the 01 game. I had very VERY low expectations. much like this year.
Who knows but its better to be pleasantly surprised then major disappointment.

Thanks for making me feel a little better:thumbsup:

No CU fan is really stoked about our offense's ability to move the ball at the moment. And yes, the emotionally detached folks in Las Vegas who make predictions their livlihood pick nebraska by 16.

But, correct me if I'm wrong--among common opponents KU was the only team that nebraska beat that we couldn't. They did it at home and still gave up 35 points.

I'm not pumping sunshine, or saying that we'll win this game for certain, but really, the biggest difference between these two teams is strength of schedule and key injuries.

Keep the faith, brother.

Thanks. its just very HARD living i omahahole and dealing with this year in and year out. it always gets worse this time of year. I know what you're saying... Unfortunately its not going to get any better because it's gunna be a beat down. But after NU killed K-state last year and we lost to Iowa State, we didn't think we had a chance last year, so keep praying.

Mmmmm KoolAid!

I think the bowl for CU will be the "Outback Booger Eaters Bowl". Oh wait, that one is going to choose Missouri.

Seriously, if CU makes it to a bowl I wish them the best of luck. I am sure they will represent the B12 North well.

It's such a big game in so many ways. If we can find a way to win and win in the bowl, all considering a 7-6 season would be unbelievable!

But I'm not getting to ahead of myself, we need a prayer friday first.

You have the common opponents correct but you beat KSU by one and ISU by 4, both at home. NU pasted both of them on the road. That comparison aside, anything can and will happen in this game. I just hope NU takes care of their business and gets a shot at Bowden New Year's Day.

The difference between 01 and this year, in 01, CU had a handful of NFL players and a solid offensive line.

ya, and nebraska had a heisman candidate and quite a few decent players of their own. They had also beaten a ranked team. Be positive man, they suck too!
