The TV announcers completely missed the boat on this little tid-bit. J-Fly has some pretty exclusive company.

J-Fly moves up

Josh Smith produced the best outing of his young career in terms of all-purpose yardage. He finished the day with 245 all-purpose yards, pushing him to No. 2 on CU's single-season list.

Only former tailback Rashaan Salaam has produced more total yardage in one season than Smith. That came during his run to the 2004 Heisman Trophy, when he racked up 2,349 yards.

Smith finished the 2008 campaign with 1,987 yards, the vast majority of which came from kickoff returns. He also caught 32 passes for 387 yards. Smith passed former running back Eric Bieniemy and Byron "Whizzer" White on Friday.

1994! I know you know that, just a typing mistake.

Congrats J-Fly. I see it all coming together for this young man very soon. He had a great game yesterday.

I hope JFly can break the record next year...on the basis of his awesome receiving, rushing, and punt return skills, and less on account of getting to return 10 kicks a game because we get slaughtered a lot...

That was a simple cut/paste from Kyle Ringo's article. I should know better that to regurgitate the press.

Well which idot around here is Kyle Ringo, I wanna neg-rep that bitch..I'm in the mood. Maybe I should just go after you....:smile2:

I, I, I....me, me, me...blah, blah, blah. :blah:

Josh had some electrifying moments last night. His 63 yard return in the 2nd quarter showed some amazing speed with the final 20 showing some nice balance. He looked like he might regain his footing and go all the way. His 44 yard catch that opened the second drive and his shoe string catch in the fourth quarter shows he is a legit WR target.

Provided Josh and Darrell Scott cope with the frustrations that come from falling short of this season's personal and team goals, they have every chance to bounce back next season with renewed focus and health. Both have so much potential. With the right OL and QB, these guys can make their dreams come true. I hope they use this season as a springboard to bigger and brighter days with the Buffs.

Here's hoping that in the next 365 days, all that potential materializes into a season where all of the pieces finally come together and all the buzz is about Colorado's all in the family #1-#2 punch.

I just hope the guy gets serious about the game and dedicates himself to the craft. He could be a very good one if he gets his act together.
