Shedeur Sanders - 2023-25 Tracking History Thread - Drafted by the Cleveland Browns (NFL)

Let's make three Shedeur predictions. It can be silly, legendary, smart, dumb, stupid, or interesting

Here is my 5 predictions

1. Shedeur will start as QB4 this spring and eventually make it till QB2 for Mr. 44.

2. Kenny Pickett will beat out Flacco who will be released. He will start the season as the 41st QB of the Browns.

3. In the 4th game in the 2nd quarter, Pickett will either be pulled or get hurt. Shedeur come in and win the game turning the Browns into a 2-2 team.

4. With the curse of euclid finally being lifted on April fools of all days in 2025, Shedeur will be named the 42nd starting QB of the Browns in the 5th week of the 2025 season. He will lead the Browns to a super bowl title and win SB MVP and NFL offensive player of the year as well as the NFL rookie of the year.

5. Shedeur will win 8 Super Bowls, lose 5 Super Bowls and play for 24 years passing Tom Brady as the all time 🐐.

13 Super Bowls in 24 years...all with the Browns?

Will win his 8th in his 21 season against the Falcons who are 2-0 against the Browns in the Super Bowl by this stage. He will end his 21st season, 8-3 in the Super Bowl and will finally get 🐐 love after beating the Falcons for the first time in the Super Bowl. Meaning the Falcons will be 2-1 against 2 in the Super Bowl. This season will be extra special to Shedeur as he finally beat the Chiefs in the playoffs. Mahomes or not, Shedeur just can't win in Kansas in the post season. This season will be a celebration and a tribute.

He will lose either one or possibly two Super Bowls to one of my sons who will be drafted to the NFC after his 21st season before finally hanging it up in his 24th season.

Note: this is just a prediction.

You forgot to mention Shilo's pick six against Shedeur in his first superbowl loss. Just a prediction.

Kid that pranked Shedeur cost his kid $100k and the Falcons $250k.

If I’m that kid’s dad, his free ride to Ole Miss is done, and he’s cut off until he finds a way to come up with $100k. Maybe find the $250k to pay the franchise, too.

Can you imagine costing your dad that much money?

After listening to most of the NFL know it alls, I have a question.
Have we been so bad for so long, that when we got SS, did we put him on a higher pedestal than he deserved?
Was he really as good as we believed or was it just our view through our gold color glasses, that made him awesome?
Most of the pundits said the NFL sees him as a career backup. If they saw a starter he would have been drafter in the 1st round, no matter what his issues are.
If we start to agree with the NFL pundits, ( I DO NOT) then drafting SS with all the BS that comes him would definitely not be worth the trouble.
If he was a true NFL starting QB, don't you believe the NFL would take that chance on him?

No but then my dad isn't a multi millionaire making seven figures.

This is the conundrum, because I think the Film Analysis was tainted by all the other things, Rap Songs, Cameras, Posse, Brand Building, and do not forget that Shedeur and Colorado have a LOT of new and loyal fans, but we also have a LOOOOTTTT of entrenched haters and racists that want Shedeur to fail, so many of the potential teams that would have put up with everything chose not to.

How come nobody is willing to say that his minor flaws are easily fixable?

I'm no NFL know it all, but SS2, and the way things went at CU raised a lot of questions come draft day. Did he hold the ball to make a play because he was CU's best hope to generate offense? Or was it an offense deigned to accumulate stats, with no real traditional coaching (e.g. get rid of the ball rather than take a sack)? Other questions abound (was he really checking out of runs willy-nilly and into pass plays?, were the sacks on SS2 or the pourous OL?, was he running the O because his Dad was HC? Why was the O so painfully simple if he has a high FB IQ?) I don't know and probably no one outside the coaches rooms knows for sure, but it undoubtedly made teams wonder.

Having said that, there is no way SS2 was a fifth round level talent, he should have gone much higher despite any questions as to any flaws in his game. He is about the most accurate passer I have seen in a long time, has well above average arm strength, and is a gamer. The dude took a monumental beating, especially in 2023, and played through it. He was a great Buff and easily one of the best 3 QB's CU has ever had.

Kids like that don’t pay for their mistakes…

I think they explained his minor playing flaws were fixable.
What they are not sure is fixable and what I believe hurt him was the extra BS. The rumors of him not taking the interviews seriously or acting professionally, honestly I think that hurt him the most.

No but then my dad isn't a multi millionaire making seven figures.

$100k is $100k.

It’s apparently 6% of Ulbricht’s salary, so yeah, he can absorb it, but costing his dad that much money, not to mention the national embarrassment - there’d be no more free school and no more allowance. No car, no phone plans, no paying his rent. Find a job and figure it out.

Did Vegas when they had him as the top odds to be the 1st overall pick through October? If you look at the scouting reports between Ward and Sanders there is not a 4 round difference, hell they're very similar.

Colin Kaepernick was a proven top half of the league starter who played in the Super Bowl and the NFL made sure his career was over as soon as he decided to take a knee.

Most of the time it’s talent over everything in the NFL but every now and then, the league overlooks talent.

The NFL is also a league that is a perfect example of group think. Everybody (except those who are the very best at what they do) is afraid to make the mistake that puts them out of the club.

Coaches and GMs are much more afraid of making a mistake than they are willing to take a chance. When a guy starts to slide then the rest of them think somebody else knows something about him and they aren't going to get involved.

Sometimes this results in the few teams that are willing to take chances getting a steal, over the years we have seen the few teams with courage actually drop hints out there to cause a guy to slide to them.

There are a few teams that have the courage to "take chances" instead of believing the negatives. In Shedeurs case most if not all of those teams already were set at QB so didn't pull the trigger.

In general SS isn't a great QB prospect. In other years neither he nor Cam Ward would have been close to the top prospect. QBs are looked at differently though because of the importance of the position. If he wasn't a QB Jaxson Dart is no better than a 3rd or 4th rounder. I'd argue that as a QB he shouldn't have been a 1st rounder and odds are that he will be a name added to the list of 1st round QBs who never amounted to much.

Cleveland is one of the leagues truly bad franchises but it wouldn't shock me if SS is starting by the end of the season and becomes their long term answer. They have some good young talent and a bunch of draft choices in the next couple drafts. I'm not a gambler but I'd gladly put a cold one on SS having a better NFL career than any other QB in this years class including Ward.
