Was it me or was last night's broadcast the worst in history?

Okay, I'll even let the Barry Switzer/Jimmy Johnson nonsense go. Why they are there is beyond me but whatever.. On to the game, during the goal line stand by UF at 7-7, the dumb announcers and color guy don't even know what down it is. When its 3rd down the too morons start debating whether OU should go for it on 4th down and pretty much report like its 4th down.. "Should the go for it Charles? yes there going".. After the play on 3rd down, the announcer is like what a stop, what a stop by Florida, what a goal line stand, blah, blah, blah, and they talk all over themselves during the 4th down play..Then that play happens, the announcer is like arrrggghhhhh what a stop, what a stop by Florida. I mean a bunch of asshats.

And the best of all was between 3rd and 4th when they were waxing poetic on Tebow for like 5 minutes to the point of saying that he cured cancer in his off-time when low and behold a flag is on the field for taunting by Tebow.. I mean frickin classic.

Heck why not send Zimmer to the broadcast to the booth, let's have some Hackett to Hackett too.

All joking aside, completely embarrassing performance when your announcers don't even know what down it is during the game.. Fox should be apologizing to the country and firing those two clowns today..

I thought Brenneman was terrible, he should stick to basball, but I thought the color guy was pretty good. Numerous times he accurately predicted what the team was going to do on the next down

Agreed.

It was not as bad as some of the other BCS games. As I pointed out in the other Fox BCS thread; Fox needs to spend some money on some better producers and reporters and booth people to draw in more human interest lines and better fill in when things are slow. Espn does a great job, College and NFL, in telling you little stories about players besides the QB. The snipets are what makes their call better.

What was driving me crazy was all the production FOx used on showing us how quickly OU was running their plays combined with the split screen with 4 camera shots. they acted like this was some brand new, revolutionary strategy.

Agree, total waste of time.

And they were acting like it was a hurry-up offense, which it is not.

last night it sure wasnt, it was taking them twice as long to get a play in and run it as during the season....

oh the best quote by the announcer was something about your life being empty and unfullfilled if you dont get a chance to spend time with tim tebow.... :wow:

About that...Tim Teblow is starting to remind me of that doooooooshebag Tom Cruise...Teblow basically said that he has a gift to change the world....how about we let other people decide if you will change the world. One of his direct quotes: "It feels good to see a kid, who is about to go into brain surgery, smiling because I'm there signing a football for him."

Ok, Tim Teblow.

I like Tebow. What I didn't like was Barry Switzer saying "We" when referring to OU. Hey BArry you're not biased are you?

Ok, Tim Teblow.

I see no problem with that. The kid is probably fearing his life and Tebow made him happy. Whats wrong with that?

I like Tebow too. Great player and seems like a good kid. I do however get sick of the media fawning over him, but that's what they do whether it be Farve, Brady, Lienert (in college) and what ever other pretty bot is out there.

I have no problem with the things he does or people reporting on it, but it seems like he thinks he is the only person who does something special like that. In his selflessness, he seems self-centered. Who knows, maybe I'm just jealous.

There is no better feeling in the world than the sense of gratification you get from knowing you helped someone out, whether spiritually, monetarily or physically. Tebow's have just been much more documented than any normal person contributions.

The color guy was halfway decent. Even to the point of apologizing to Breneman for not 'Backing him up' on the 4th down stuff.

I agree.

Between the Fox broadcast team and the OU band and the endless succession of comercials, the only real choice was to mute the volume. That's what I did, anyway.

If something cool happened, I just backed it up and replayed with sound.

The sound of barking dogs was better than that drivel.

FWIW, I thought the whole production was sophomoric, from the announcers to the split screen. BTW, announcing in general is only getting worse. These guys need to learn how to shut up - the presentation would be much better in silence, or better yet, with Led Zeppelin churning out Black Dog.

I don't know, but I've been told, a big-legged woman aint got no soul.
