Shut the hell up!

If you guys missed the Denver Post, here is the letter than Mr. Fulton wrote:

"The article on CU football's rogues gallery was good. John Henderson writes well and provides real value in his coverage of CU and the Big 12.

The solution, however, to the antics of CU football players is not rocket science. Start by recruiting good kids. Kids with roots. Colorado kids. It is well past time: CU needs to laser in on recruiting outstanding young men who will be future leaders of Colorado from Colorado.

Before that's likely to happen, CU needs to look into its own head and heart and begin to deal with problems in its football program that go way beyond the fumbles and foibles of the kids."

OH MY GAWD!! I JUST ABOUT WENT THROUGH THE ROOF! First, the frigging article was way out of proportion to any "problem." Second, Henderson sucks as a writer and is more apt to write about 'braska than he is about CU. Fulton, I'll almost guarantee, is a transplanted 'fusker. Third, Colorado DOES recruit outstanding young men! Fourth, Denver area papers are ten times more critical of CU's football program than any other local paper in the Big XII! A writer from, say, the Omaha Herald, if he were to write a similar article about the fuskers, would be run out of town. Fifth, IF YOU KNOW ANYTHING, YOU KNOW THAT CU CANNOT SURVIVE RECRUITING TOO MANY IN STATE KIDS! HAWK GOES AFTER THE BEST IN STATE KIDS EVERY YEAR, YOU MORAN! Not to mention that even the academic side of the school "recruits" almost 50% out of state kids!

AAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH! How the hell could the frigging Post print this letter when, I'll gauran-damned-tee you there were 10 to 1 more letters attacking that low life hack, John "The Fusker" Henderson!!

Hate to make you even angrier, but there was a nice letter criticizing President Benson for the "problems" with the football team in the Perspective section as well.

I hate stuck up, holier than thou, MORANS, that write letters to the editor when they have no clue what they are talking about. And, even worse, is the holier than thou newspaper editor that prints it. Anyone of us could write a salient rebuttal to Henderson and his adoring public, however we would have no chance of it seeing the light of the sports page. The Denver Post, it looks like, has an agenda along with the rest of the local hack media.

Haven't lasers gotten us into enough trouble already?

The thing that annoyed the hell out of me was the fact that there had to have been about 100 letters that were critical of the column, yet none of them got printed.

I've decided not to click on that link. The DP isn't going to get my eyeballs today.

It's clear the DP drives it's numbers on a formula that includes a continued anti-CU message.

Longmont Times Call and Boulder Camara and Allbuffs and Rivals renders the Post irrelevant.

I agree. Half the time I read the letters to the editor just for entertainment value. There are some clueless people out there.

BTW, here's the letter about Benson from the Perspective section:

http://blogs.denverpost.com/eletters/2009/01/11/is-benson-capable/

:wtf:

What a ****ing chucklehead. Benson became President of CU in February, 2008. Henderson was reaching back into 2007 for his "story" because there had been virtually no incidents since then. How is Benson responsible for a bunch of (trivial) **** that happened before he even took the job??

I almost feel sorry for guys like this. He obviously only gets his news from the DP. I think it would be safe to assume that he does not even watch the Buffs on tv as even that would change his opinion.

Unfortunately, he is also not aware that Hawk has been doing everything he can, and succeeding to a large degree, in keeping CO guys at home.

It is unfortunate that the Denver paper can only print this type of drivel rather than dispute his remarks, which are so easily disputed.

I don't read the DP. The only time I go to the website is when it is linked here. I will also quit hitting those links.

Mr. Fulton probably doesn't know that CSU couldn't field a very competitive D1 team by just recruiting Colorado kids. Hell even UNC would have trouble being competitive.

my subscription to the the Rocky (Post on Sundays) went away last Friday when I called up and cancelled....

I get sick of this stuff too. What NO ONE ever asks: Are the behaviour issues with football players worse/better/the same compared to the student body in general. If it is worse - it is a football problem. The same - it is a campus problem. Better? then high five the football program. The AD's and etc. are so anxious to fall on their swords (Duke LaCrosse & CU) they don't ask the right questions. Jeez the people who run universities are supposed to be smart, journalists..............keep your expectations low.
