and the recruiting class you think will come in does. What is your two deep? It should be interesting with the incoming class plus the injuries/inelligibilites/ and RS's last year that should be ready this season. Half our team didn't even play much last year.

okay leash, I'll give it a whirl.....

QB 1 - Hansen
QB 2 - Ballenger (Cody starts coaching...I may be way off base here)

RB 2 - Stewart
RB 3 - Polk
Short Yardage - Sumler
Passing downs - Lockridge
FB 1 - Behrens
FB 2 - Burgner
WR 1 - Simas
WR 1 - Smith
WR 2 - McKnight (if one of the frosh or the jc explode during summer, Scotty moves to slot)
WR 2 - Blackmon
Slot 1 - Espinoza
Slot 2 - Ham (just a guess here)
TE 1 - Geer
TE 2 - Deehan (wouldn't surprise me if he quickly became the #1)

RT 1 - Miller
RT 2 - Dannewitz
RG 1 - MTM
RG 2 - Tau
C 1 - Behrens
C 2 - Stevens (or Eastburn)
LG 1 - Head
LG 2 - Iltis
LT 1 - Solder
LT 2 - Givens (it wouldn't surprise me if he became the starter)

DT 1 - Cunningham
DT 1 - Goree
DT 2 - Kaynor
DT 2 - Shields
DE 1 - Herrod
DE 1 - Obi
DE 2 - Poremba or Cooney
DE 2 - Kasa (yes, I actually said that)
Mike LB 1 - Katoa
Mike LB 2 - Sipili
Strong LB 1 - Major
Strong LB 2 - Burton
Will LB 1 - Mohler
Will LB 2 - Beatty or Rippy (the other will become the pass-rush backer)
CB 1 - Burney
CB 1 - Jimmy Smith
CB 2 - C Brown
CB 2 - A Wright
Nickle 1 - C Brown
Nickle 2 - J Brown
Dime 1 - J Hawkins
Dime 2 - L Smith
SS 1 - Mahnke (dood can hit!)
SS 2 - Ewing
FS 1 - Perkins
FS 2 - Hicks (altho, he may have the speed/athleticism to move to corner)

Punter - DiLallo (I think he'll get his act together)
PK 1 - Goodman (his until he loses it)
Kickoff - Davis
Long snapper 1 - Drescher (what a find he's been)
Long snapper 2 - Brisnow

Poremba and Cooney are nothing more than scout team players. I'm glad they work their asses off for the BnG, but we are in deep doo if they are in the two deep.

I think Pericak will be a DE/DT type player and should see time ahead of the two listed above.

Beatty, Rippy and possibly Major will be that hybrid DE/OLB that Jones and Beatty played last year too (as Red Dirt mentioned)

Assuming Nuckols makes it in at a reasonable time this summer, I think he get early PT. 6-2 290 as a hs SR?!?! If Sale is healthy he could see some time in the DL rotation as well.

I feel the same way about Espinoza and Ham as I do Poremba and Cooney. Glad they are Buffs but if they are seeing any significant PT we have had a ton of injuries or the guys ahead of them are not as good as we believe.

I think you are spot on for most of you two deep minus these areas. We shall see.

The backfield should be interesting.

I watched the many 2008 in Review games on youtube and was amazed at what Scott could do when he was healthy. But Speedy's tenacious and Sumler won me over at the end of the season. What a great Buff. Lockridge is one tough hombre and showed us some freaky speed in 2007.

The starter is a toss-up, but I think we're more likely to see Sumler on passing downs than Lockridge, as I believe he's our best pass blocker. Both are legitimate threats out of the backfield.

I really pondered putting MTM and Major on my guestimate 2-deep; knee injuries are tricky to come back from. It may take another year before they really are ready to contribute.

I did the d-ends that way kinda tongue-in-cheek. We are woefully thin at DE. Additionally, it's possible that Pericak, Shields, and/or Kaynor may get moved to DE, to help the numbers.

Sale and Lawson might improve enough to make it into the rotation. Even tho Nuckols has made some real strides in the classroom (reportedly), he still needs to finish it up strong. If he does, there's no way in Hades he doesn't see the field this year.

Yeah. I really really hope that Scott learns to pass block this year. It was a real liability when he was in there as you pretty much knew that it was going to be a run.

Herrod becomes a DT in my opinon....and a damn good one at that. He could easily be a slim 290lb guy.

That talent level is awesome.....but there are three ACL tears on that starting 5 this past year. Fingers crossed they all come back healthy, strong and ready to maul people.

I think Major will be great down the road, but no way does he keep Mohler out of the starting lineup next year.

People we haven't seen yet that will start or be starting by confrence IMO are: Simas, Katoa, Obi and Kasa. Possibly a frosh WR as well.

It would be great to see Obi step it up. If I remember right Rivals had him as a 4-star until he got injured before(or at the beginning) of his senior season, then went down to a 3 star.

There's no way Grossnickle beats out Davis at kickoffs if he is healthy. I think he is having surgery.

Quoting myself. Can't believe I didn't put Oline. We were so ****ty there last year. Are you all worried?

our o-line got shredded by injuries and inexperience from backups year plus academic ineligibility we plug the injured and academically ineligible members not to mention the backups who gained a world of experience...not only an am i not concerned... im encouraged!!!!

Ok. But I think the marjority of our oline is coming off injury. That's cause for concern, no?

Until proven otherwise, offensive line has to be a concern IMO. For one, we are unsettled at the center position, it is not easy to replace a three-year starter. Then you take into account the serious injuries several guys are recovering from and it still remains a big question mark. Most potential in quite a while, but it needs to be proven on the field before I believe we're truly set.

Miller and MTM I believe have the most potential to be all-conference or NFL bound etc., but I really think that Mike Itlis is the "best of the rest" and the most important guy to have in the fold - coaches really like him, and he can play just about any position. He's had a ton of recovery time. I think he'll be our center.

I'm thinking our OL for CSU will look like this:

LT - Solder
LG - Head
C - Behrens
RG - MTM
RT - Miller

Iltis might work his way into the rotation, but I just hope we have 5 guys that play above the rest and have a chance to gel together all season long.

And I can't wait to see this split formation with Stewart/Scott, Scott/Polk, Polk/Stewart.

Anyone putting Head in their starting lineup hasn't been watching closely. Head was benched in 2007 in favor of TRUE freshmen Maiva. When Iltis went down and Faatagi went bye-bye, he found himself starting again. Until TRUE Freshman MTM took that job away. Then MTM blew out the ACL.

Head is a Senior and will be a backup to more talented younger guys.

I still expect Miller to be moved to guard.....

There's a lot of time for that to be decided - let Jameson get through his surgery first and see how he does. He played for us injured last year and I don't want to give up on him.

If he comes back 100% - and he's very good - then Grossnickle sits out a year and is ready to take over punting when DiLallo graduates.
